The Keystone Complex To The Rescue - 6

Dredd Blog has been saying that officials of the Obama Admin. are members in good standing of "The Circle W Cowboys".

The propaganda media outlets, like Morning Joe on MSNBC, a brand of the toothpaste empire, robber baron corporation GE, nevertheless portray Obama as a far left socialist (out in the open anyway).

Meanwhile, hard right congressmen begin to grow goatees and call Obama their "close friend".

This is the realm of Jabber The Whut without a doubt.

Somebody is right, because now we find out that there was a deal not to prosecute any Bush II regime criminals because, well just because:
In its first months in office, the Obama administration sought to protect Bush administration officials facing criminal investigation overseas for their involvement in establishing policies the that governed interrogations of detained terrorist suspects. A "confidential" April 17, 2009, cable sent from the US embassy in Madrid to the State Department—one of the 251,287 cables obtained by WikiLeaks — details how the Obama administration, working with Republicans, leaned on Spain to derail this potential prosecution.

The previous month, a Spanish human rights group called the Association for the Dignity of Spanish Prisoners had requested that Spain's National Court indict six former Bush officials for, as the cable describes it, "creating a legal framework that allegedly permitted torture." The six were former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales; David Addington, former chief of staff and legal adviser to Vice President Dick Cheney; William Haynes, the Pentagon's former general counsel; Douglas Feith, former undersecretary of defense for policy; Jay Bybee, former head of the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel; and John Yoo, a former official in the Office of Legal Counsel. The human rights group contended that Spain had a duty to open an investigation under the nation's "universal jurisdiction" law, which permits its legal system to prosecute overseas human rights crimes involving Spanish citizens and residents. Five Guantanamo detainees, the group maintained, fit that criteria.
(Too Big To Jail). The Circle W Cowboys always get to the same place, because they all use The W Compass to do their police work:
When a cop pulled him over to the side of the road
Just like the time before and the time before that
In Paterson that’s just the way things go
If you’re [Barak] you might as well not show up on the street
’Less you wanna draw the heat
(Hurricane, Bob Dylan). We have a new police force in town folks who have had a talk with Mr. Obama, and the force is out to plunder "purtek your money".

The next post in this series is here, the previous post is here.

  1. It looks like the Keystone Komplex is gonna have to get over to "the Nigeria" and wise some of those boyz up according to Raw Story.

  2. Not like the US authorities would have cooperated with any prospective prosecution anyway. I can just see ol' Cheney now going on TV and literally flipping the Spanish authorities off (and the American sheeple eating it all up in the name of USA uber alles). Wikileaks will be invaluable for proving what most of us already suspected, but not much more. Those of us who believe that the US government is up to some seriously nefarious shit in this world (the few) will pay attention; those who think it can do no wrong (the many) won't. Same as it ever was.

  3. Randy,

Here's a prediction I feel safe in making: the US will NEVER, I repeat NEVER, submit a former VP (especially of Cheney's god-like stature) to prosecution by any country, let alone a third world, strategically insignificant African one (I'm reminded of Hill St Blues Lt Howard Hunter's infamous epithet, "third world brown types," and can just imagine those same words coming from Cheney or any number of other well-heeled Republicans as well).

  4. If WikiLeaks continues to succeed, calls for prosecution of American war criminals will increase.

  5. Taylor Wray,

    Welcome.

You said: "calls for prosecution of American war criminals will increase".

Yes, currently in foreign nations, mainly the spy agencies are the ones who know of these wrongs, but as the news gets out foreign nations will do a better job of it than the U.S. Department of Just Us.

The prosecutors from Nigeria who are going after Cheney, for instance, are highly experienced criminal lawyers who are graduates of Oxford and they are competent, consummate professionals.

Blogger disaffected who commented above is probably correct that the DOJ here (who drive the stretch limo in the photo upthread) will continue their cover up of crimes by U.S. elite like Cheney, as they always have.

Dredd Blog readers might want to visit Taylor's blog: "The Daily Taylor", which has a wonderful motto "Don't worry, be savvy."

  6. Taylor,

I love the title of that opening blog entry: If You Are a Republican, You Are a Traitor to this Country (12.02.10). Certainly can't be much clearer than that.

I agree with that sentiment; however, I also realize tha most of the GOP supporters feel the same way about dems. It's quite a quandary we find ourselves in heading into 2012 and facing some generational-impact issues.

I agree with Dredd. I think these people have simply gone literally insane due to the machinations of the GOP over the past thirty years. They have succesfully used advanced propoganda and disinformation techniques to manipulate the very people whose interests are being compromised to vote Republican. And the dems have absolutely no counter strategy whatsoever, and are in fact acquiescing and shifting right everyday themselves. The political landscape has now shifted so far right that we effectively have three branches of the same party: the right (the dems), the far right (the GOP), and the insanely irrational hard right (the Tea Baggers).

My predictions (write it down): the US will implode and go through some sort of major political/governmental reorganization before 2020, the nature of that reorganization will be totalitarian/facist with the remainder of the government not sold off to private interests existing only as the enforcement arm for a fascist capitalist state (we're almost there right now), and the PEOPLE(!) will welcome their own enslavement - indeed they will DEMAND(!) it - with open arms. You heard it here first.

  7. Forgot to add, the long term impact of WikiLeaks and sources like it is more harsh crackdowns on free speech, especially over the internet. The internet makes a lot of advanced surveillance techniques possible, so its inevitable that they will be brought to bear sooner rather than later to stifle all dissent. That mean's that blogs like Dredd's and Taylor's days are numbered, or that at the very least they will suffer severe consequences. I'm sure the NSA and god knows who else is already keeping a eye trained on them. And once again, the people, for the most part, will be just fine with it. It's all in the sales pitch, and fear of the "evil other" is by far the best sales pitch ever developed.
