Cleanup Begins In Deep PR Waters - 2

A recent post (Cleanup Begins In Deep PR Waters) pointed out how the "news" about the Deepwater Horizon catastrophe was being overrun with a desire for a particular outcome in the Gulf of Mexico:
A report released last week by a group of federal agencies led by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration stated — without documentation — that early signs show the oil is “biodegrading quickly.” Not so in the southwest plume in late June, the WHOI researchers found. Their measurements of oxygen dissolved in seawater, which bacteria consume as they feed, showed that microbes had not appreciably degraded the oil during its first 5 days out of the well.

Despite the new findings, oceanographers don't yet have a complete picture of subsurface oil. The mass of oil in the southwest plume surveyed in late June “doesn’t hold a candle to the plume we saw” to the southwest in May, says biogeochemist Samantha Joye of the University of Georgia, Athens. And then there’s the plume to the northeast, toward the Florida panhandle. In a close-in survey, the WHOI group found it to be the lesser of the two plumes. But Joye says that at other times researchers have found the northeast plume to be five times as massive. And this week, researchers from the University of South Florida in St. Petersburg led by chemical oceanographer David Hollander announced the first observation of oil droplets from a plume settling to the bottom of the gulf. Apparently, the northeast plume was massive enough to lay down a carpet of oil droplets off of West Florida.
(Science). Dredd Blog has been heads up with this Gulf story, and on the attitude government has toward the public, in terms of informing the citizenry or not informing them.

Dredd Blog has pointed out that government cares little about providing the truth when that truth is contrary to the government's desire to play pretend through PR spin (a.k.a. propaganda).

So we look deeper than these official desires down into the actual waters of the Gulf, relying on independent scientists, relying on studies done before the controversy, and relying on our common sense to detect the reality inside our national waters:
We are not getting the plume truth from this administration or from the oil barons.

Surprised?

Readers of Dredd Blog know we foresaw the likelihood of the disaster three weeks before it happened.
(From State Secrets To State Propaganda). We have even predicted that the invisible, odorless, and tasteless toxins from the dispersant are already in the Gulf Stream:
Instead, take samples like the University of Georgia folk do, be scientific, because the toxins are moving by you Florida, and are in the Gulf Stream now, under the surface.
(Danger Lurks In The Deep Water - 3). The report in Science linked to above indicates that the largest plume has gone somewhere.

Our research indicates that strong currents, including the Loop Current, work together to move Gulf Waters down around Florida then into the Gulf Stream much more powerfully than the federal government wants to believe.

Withdrawal of The Meaning Of Combat

One of the classic techniques of MOMCOM propaganda is to change the meaning of words, thereby changing the entire discussion of a subject without doing anything substantial.

The exercise then becomes Shakespearean, a play on words, a play on subject matter, and a play about deceiving the public about what is really happening.

That is where we are concerning the Iraq war, where we have always been, and the mercenary place we are now going to.

The Iraq war was initiated under false pretence after false pretence, the plot changing, thickening and morphing like a jar head politician caught with a hand or two in the cookie jar.

The oil barons of MOMCOM who run the White House and Congress, when it comes to the subject of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, are in word change mode.

They are redefining the term "combat troop" by changing the meaning of "combat".

Under the old dictionary, a "combat troop" was one who initiated incursions into Iraqi cities or neighbourhoods without provocation.

Those "combat troops" are leaving Iraq we are told, to be replaced with troops who have the same gear, same weapons, same mission, but who are not "combat troops".

The reason they are not "combat troops" is that they will not initiate incursions into Iraqi cities or neighbourhoods without provocation, meaning, they will return an attack only when they are fired upon or otherwise attacked.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

Dredd Blog has pointed out that those who watch the world oil markets carefully are expecting Iraq to be the number one oil producer in the world in a relatively short time.

The billion dollar "embassy" constructed with money taken from Americans against their will (homes, health care, jobs), is MOMCOM headquarters (but not 'military' budget) for manipulating and managing the Iraqi oil in order to save desperado addict economies from withdrawal pains.

Oh MOMCOM, you are so Shakespearean as you lead civilization into the final death spiral by poisoning the world with your imperialistic delusions and your junkie oil.

Is Bigotry Or Our Constitution Wiser?

President Obama stood up for our traditional constitutional values, then mused that he was not commenting on the wisdom of practising those constitutional values.

He said that Muslims have as much right to practice their religion as Christians do to practice theirs, but was not commenting on whether it was wise for those Muslims to build a structure for Islamic studies near ground zero in New York.

This is a subtle way of saying our constitution is not wise to allow minority religions to be practised in the home of the free.

I must disagree.

The President was spot on to defend the constitution, as all the bigots and other fools in government should do, because number one they took an oath to do so.

The oath of office is clear about this issue:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
(Wikipedia, emphasis added). The oath those who enter the military, the federal judiciary, or congress take is to the same effect:
I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
(Wikipedia, emphasis added). The bigots who are all aTwitter about an Islamic building being built near ground zero are ideologically foreign to the U.S. Constitution and the oath they took.

The U.S. Constitution is the definition of what is wise in terms of social, secular wisdom, leaving religions to decide what is wise in their religion.

Therefore, the U.S. Constitution also defines what is unwise, for example bigotry against a religion that is different from your own.

UPDATE: For those who didn't know, the attack on American Muslims comes from the religious right then is cuddled by MOMCOM's media as a silly attack on the president.

If you want to pick up some of the music of right wing religion, showing some of their talent and sentiments, check out the two album covers.

Again Dredd Blog asks, what is wiser, these bigots or the U.S. Constitution?

Who ya gonna call?

If you want a larger version, click on the photo you want enlarged, then reach out and touch somebody.

UPDATE 2: The Muslim mosque or prayer area at the Pentagon, which was also attacked on 9/11, works just fine with no protests there.

Methinks wicked politics is at play here, bigotry is a toy of the wicked propagandists.

Time magazine has an article on the moderate Imam involved in the Islamic Cultural Center at issue.

"Cleanup" Begins In Deep "PR" Waters

The propaganda campaign (a.k.a. "PR", "spin") is getting under way, like at the beginning, telling us how clean the Gulf of Mexico is now, perhaps even telling us again that it is better than it ever was.

It is "a wonder how the Gulf survived all these years without a good oil spill under its belt" is where they seem to be going with this word hurricane.

This campaign is hogwash designed to avoid the adult thing to do, which is to admit the danger oil poses to society here and to civilization as a whole.

The story does not pass the smell test in more ways than one.

For example, the dispersant is composed of a secret toxic mixture which is a trade secret known only to the alchemists who concocted it for big oil.

Today an EPA official said "we are testing the waters" and taking areas off the no fishing area list when the water does not test positive for pollutants.

But if they do not know everything that was in the dispersant, and they don't because of trade secrets, then they obviously cannot test for what they don't know to look for.

Voodoo testing produces voodoo science.

President Obama and family, feeling duty bound, travelled to the Gulf region to vacation (in an area not hit with surface oil) to swim, eat seafood, and tell us "things are OK now" with their actions.

It reminded many people of the similar "clean up" campaign after 9/11 at ground zero.

The EPA / FEMA declarations that the air was OK to breathe then and there, the subsequent deaths of hundreds of first responders, and the ongoing health problems those still living endure to this very day, raise doubts about stories saying "the disaster is over".

You may remember the recent uproar over republican resistance to a House Bill to provide the survivors of those first responders in NYC with health care coverage.

The truth of the matter is that the Gulf of Mexico has suffered a mortal wound.

We know that the list of extinct species will increase along with the body counts in the wars being fought to force even more oil down our throats.

Voodoo environmentalism emerging from the right wing lunatic fringe has seeped its way into U.S. domestic and foreign policy like toxic oil seeping into yet another marsh to destroy it.

UPDATE: A University of Georgia team indicates that up to 90% of the oil is now subsurface, still existing, but it is out of sight and out of mind to those who want to play pretend it is gone:
On August 2, 2010, the National Incident Command (NIC) released a report on the status of oil from the BP oil spill. The findings of the report are being widely reported in the news media as suggesting that 75% of the oil is “gone” and only 25% remains. However, many independent scientists are interpreting the findings differently, with some suggesting that less than 10% is “gone” and up to 90% remains a threat to the ecosystem. Considering the vulnerability of the southeast Atlantic coast to oil being carried our way by the Gulf Stream, it is critical that we determine which of these interpretations of the report is more accurate.

To address this issue, Georgia Sea Grant organized an ad hoc group of university-based oceanographic experts from within the state to independently evaluate and interpret the conclusions of the NIC report.

This group determined that the media interpretation of the report’s findings has been largely inaccurate and misleading.
(UOG Report, page 1, PDF version). In earlier posts on Dredd Blog, linked to in this post above, we pointed out some of the reasons the government wants to hide as much of the damage as possible.

Iraq: World's Number One Oil Producer?

I thought Dredd Blog had been focusing in quite well on issues that peel off the talking points imperialists in the government use to cover up the real reason for the Iraq and the Afghanistan war models that generate our current foreign policy.

I thought this had been accomplished recently in Oilah Akbar in Afghanistan and BP Is Too Busy In Iraq To Help Gulf.

Maybe so to some degree, but on review of an even more recent post, there is an even more revealing statement:
Production from Iraq is the wild card. The current target of 12 million barrels a day by 2016 would make Iraq the world’s number one producer, potentially increasing global spare capacity and sending the oil price down. However, numerous legal, security and administrative problems hinder this development.
(The Peak Of The Oil Wars). How could there be any more of a clear statement of MOMCOM's warster way of thinking than that, since MOMCOM has been controlling Iraq for a decade now?

Is saying "mission accomplished" the same as saying "we dominate the drug of our addiction"?

If so, then the world is much like Afghanistan where a group of warlords divide up territory for the purpose of distributing drugs while protecting their turf.

And it could also mean that the great military genius Napoleon was intuitive when he said:
A soldier will fight long and hard for a bit of colored ribbon.
(Quotes of Napoleon). The public is fed up with the propaganda lies of the imperialists who run the show, and the imperialists are fed up with the desire for truth the people have.

Houston, we have a problem.

The next post in this series is here.
