Quantum Oceanography - 6

Do any of you know the story of Higgs and his Boson?

Well, Peter is his first name, his song is The Higgs Boson Blues, and the Boson is his game:

"It’s turned into science’s worst-kept secret. Tomorrow, physicists at CERN near Geneva in Switzerland are expected to announce the discovery of the Higgs boson, the culmination of a 50-year quest to find the elusive particle that gives others their mass. Here’s how they got there."

(What Higgs Boson?). I know how he feels, which is an old feeling many have felt when we advance things that have not yet been approved by Godzilla of the Space Force.

Somebody has to be in charge of pseudo science (What Is Pseudo Science?) eh?

Oceanographers have not yet fully grasped the significance of the photon transfer of "ocean heat", and may not know that "ocean heat", like its ancestor "solar heat", travels in space, and even in water.

Oh yes, Oceanography 1.0 may tell you that your eyes may lie and tell you that ocean heat travels into the deepest waters.

But what about the billions of miles and years it takes to travel from stars thru "empty space" to where you are, to where the water is (You Are Here)?

This series "Quantum Oceanography" (Quantum Oceanography, 2, 3, 4, 5) made me feel the Higgs Boson Blues (see video below) because until "Big Bother" sees it, it ain't real.

Test the hypothesis, search Google for "Big Bother".

Crickets.

Put parentheses around it "Big Bother".

Crickets.

If the Google can't find it ...

Anyway, how would infrared heat (ocean heat in the great deeps) flow from warmer water into the cold ice?

Hey ... I've got the Infrared Photon Blues, because staid science does not think "The Fifth Ocean" (the latest) has ice melt (Antatctica 2.0, In Search of Ocean Heat).

The next post in this series is here, the previous post in the series is here.

New Ocean (Guest Post)

New Ocean 2.0

Most of my friends are aware of my affinity for the world oceans. From an early age I became bound to a relationship with the ocean, and would become emotionally if not physically ill if I could not be near the ocean. As I grew older I was able to change that by spending time in the deep wildernesses of the U.S. and Canada.

That ocean covers about 75% of the planet, so it is something that is abundant and available to the most of us, (we who inhabit the most beautiful planet around).

Relatively recently I have become scientifically interested in the ocean and Oceanography, having developed a close study of, and use of, the work of Josiah Gibbs, an American Scientist. "Albert Einstein called him 'the greatest mind in American history.' Gibbs’s studies of thermodynamics and discoveries in statistical mechanics paved the way for many of Einstein’s later discoveries." (Sloane Physics Lab, Yale Univ.).

I work with those who work with the scientific tools Gibbs brought to life. I am doing software engineering on the tools to make them powerful enough to deal with relevant measurements of seawater made all around the globe. My focus is on making the formulas of Gibbs and the Teos-10 organization work quickly and accurately enough to enhance our study of the ocean vastness.

Since about Ninety Three Percent (93%) of the increase of heat now taking place on our planet enters the ocean, I focus the research and software engineering I do into making our inquiry of our oceans more robust.

The Teos-10 Organization people are public servants who want us to realize the wonders and dangers of the great ocean. You can learn more about them at (Wikipedia, and Teos Org).
