About 49% of solar radiation that reaches Earth is in the form of invisible infrared photons. 

This Dredd Blog series contemplates the impact on the ocean that absorption of the infrared photons (heat) from the Sun can have.

The hypothesis presented in this series is that when saturation amounts of ocean water are reached it causes the quantity of absorption capacity to oscillate to the point that sometimes an ocean area can't absorb all of that solar heat impacting it, so that heat remains in the atmosphere, which increases global warming (The Saturation Chronicles, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 , 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24).

The World Ocean Database (WOD) zone graphic (Fig. 1) above has been modified (red lines) to show the Equatorial Indian Ocean (Area A), also it shows what is called "The El Nino" area, but what is in reality the Equatorial Pacific Ocean (Area B), plus the Equatorial Atlantic Ocean (Area C). 

That graphic focuses on:

Area A which includes WOD zones "1004, 1005, 1006, 1007, 1008, 1009, 1010, 1011, 1012, 1013, 1014" on the northern ("N") side of the Equator, as well as WOD zones "3003, 3004, 3005, 3006, 3007, 3008, 3009, 3010, 3011, 3012, 3013, 3014" on the southern ("S") side of the Equator;

Area B which includes WOD zones "1015, 1016, 1017, 7017, 7016, 7015, 7014, 7013, 7012, 7011, 7010, 7009, 7008, 7007" on the northern ("N") side of the Equator, as well as WOD zones "3015, 3016, 3017, 5017, 5016, 5015, 5014, 5013, 5012, 5011, 5010, 5009, 5008, 5007" on the southern ("S") side of the Equator;

Area C which includes WOD zones "7006, 7005, 7004, 7003, 7002, 7001, 7000, 1000" on the northern ("N") side of the Equator, as well as WOD zones "5004, 5003, 5002, 5001, 5000, 3000, 3001" on the southern ("S") side of the Equator; 

Any WOD zones exclusively over land (no ocean water) are excluded from the lists.  

The data which were used to calculate TEOS-10 values and produce the graphs in Appendix 1 are in situ measurements from the WOD.

Clearly these WOD zones have experienced heat changes at all depths unrelated to the mythical "El Nino" dynamics portrayed in for-profit corporate news (Appendix 2; cf. The El Nino/La Nina Chronicles - 7).
