The Peak of The Oil Lies

Many stories are coming out that the Gulf of Mexico still has massive amounts of oil on the bottom, floating in the water column, and still washing up on the beaches there.

This is of course in the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon disaster cover-up.

Nevertheless, the media portion of MOMCOM has moved on and does not cover this ongoing disaster as it did at the first, which is par for the course.

Below is a 20 minute video of an interview of several scholars and environmental observers concerning the phenomenon called "peak oil".

One of those who is interviewed wrote the book "Peak Everything".

One observation I have is that it is obvious how MOMCOM, the amygdala of the nation, is quite desperate to deceive when the inner workings are exposed as having gone over the top.

Black Swan Down

At the behest of a dancer friend of mine, I went to see the movie Black Swan yesterday, so I didn't get a lot of blogging done.

The movie blew my mind because it was, to my imagination, a symbolic depiction of the animation of the national amygdala, which we call MOMCOM.

The amygdala energy at work was symbolized by the mother's imposition of her will on her daughter, the dancer, the future.

These machinations were causing a lot of schizophrenic, and other adverse personality morphs, like going from bright humane government to a torturing freak out government, and struggling to get back again.

The personality eventually became so dynamically toxic after going back and forth between the black swan and the white swan, that even though the persona performed the dance with the utmost artistic fervor, the entity ended up choosing suicide as the "glorious remedy" of choice.

Meanwhile back in Washington, a.k.a. ground zero, other stars were grasping at being humane by talking down Social Security, Health Care, and Medicare.

At the same time, out of the other side of their mouths, they were lifting Pentagon arms high and calling it light, you know, MOMCOM statue of liberty freedom.

Which is another way they seem to like to say to the world these daze, we have to keep you safe or we will kill you.

The Current Problems

I thought this David Ho painting was cool (named "catch a star").

Since we have been doing some utilization of provocative art in the past few days, it was a shoe in.

And since I first thought about human endeavors depicted in Ho's work in an Ecocosmology Blog post some time back, called Life According To Science, I had to share the cosmic impotence with the MOMCOM crowd.

Especially since we recently gave the Family Radio Church a hard time for predicting the end of the world on May 21, 2011, why not share the scorn with those who know better than to use pixels on an X Y graph or calendar?

Religion and science come to the same ultimate conclusion in principle, it is just that scientists are more "sophisticated" in their dire predictions, mainly because they are for the most part funded by MOMCOM, and have their rhetoric "down".

Yes, "You are going to die on May 21!" is not as cosmopolitan to the 21st Century amygdala as "You are going to die in 432 billion years!"

Meanwhile, tomorrow the new Ho House of Misrepresentatives comes up to Washington town to try to catch a star.

I call that B rated movie "The Borg Goes To Washington", which interestingly is also depicted in the graphic Ho painting.

Also meanwhile, the currents in the oceans are going to kill a lot of us.

Who says the blockheads in congress don't have anything in common with Mother Nature?

The Virgin MOMCOM

Sculpture by Kris Kuksi
The sanctuary of the holy war.

The sanctuary of the jihad.

The sanctuary of sacrosanct military spending.

The sanctuary of the neo - American Religion.

Holy imperialism fat man.

A recent Dredd Blog post alluded to this new, gripping religion:
... there’s one huge area of government spending that Democrats and Republicans alike have so far treated as sacrosanct.

It’s the military / security world ...
(Is The Empress Taking Off Her Clothes?, quoting NY Times). The concept of the holy war is bound to the notion of the virgin birth, re-birth, and the ultimate self-righteousness, a.k.a. "exceptionalism", handed down from antiquity:
A life-death-rebirth deity, also known as a dying-and-rising or resurrection deity, is a god who is born, suffers death or a death-like experience, passes through a phase in the underworld among the dead, and is subsequently reborn, in either a literal or symbolic sense.
(Life-Death-Rebirth Deity). The propaganda of the military's intellectuals, the high-priests of the god of war, is that MOMCOM gave birth to our freedoms, and continues to resurrect our freedoms from death through massive raw military power:
The main claim to fame is that the military portion of MOMCOM gives new meaning to freedom, which is what they claim is their number one product: MOMCOM Freedom.

It is what you get instead of getting your money back. No refunds from MOMCOM.

MOMCOM Freedom is not free, they like to say.

Clearly they are right because their brand (MOMCOM Freedom) costs us more than all the rest of the world combined pay for it. The president, congress, and the judiciary think this is a real bargain, exclaiming "you get the freedom you pay for".
(MOMCOM - A Mean Welfare Queen). The Dredd Blog has often pointed out how the religion of the virgin MOMCOM works:
"Upon enlistment, the first act of a Roman soldier was to pledge obedience and devotion to the emperor. Absolute loyalty to authority and to fellow soldiers was the cardinal virtue, and the Mithraic religion became the ultimate vehicle for this fraternal obedience. The Mithras worshippers compared the practice of their religion to their military service."
(Doing The Right Thing - Mithraism, emphasis in original). The fundamental tenet of the military's religion, which is a modern form of Mithraism, is unquestioned obedience to the power that makes its followers exceptional.

The military bands have more members playing hail to the chief than the State Department has members seeking to improve America's lot in the world.

We have seen that MOMCOM has been resurrected over and over again as a life-death-rebirth deity:
The Pentagon needed to help Bush II get elected, to save the military oil complex from becoming a class like the military in other countries of the world:
Until more money arrives, the defense apparatus is literally feeding on its own parts, pinching this and that, scrimping here and there, in order to keep the same Cold War force structure in place and the same lineup of new weapons moving through the pipeline of development. During the Cold War era, the military institution acquired a reflexive appetite for growth that it's now unwilling to give up. Instead, it lumbers toward a self-induced crisis of malnourishment, as when an addict's starving body eats its own liver.
(Is There A Shadow Government - 2). That was the state of the military just as Bush II was being elected, with the help of GE and the GE CEO, Bush II's greatest campaign contributor.
(GE Serves The Pentagon On TV Near Yoo). Birth and death are worshiped faithfully by the military priests who believe they are the saviors of the world.

Yes, MOMCOM exceptionalists know that "God Is On Their Side" so they serve with the fervor of the ultimate zealot, plunging the world into one inferno after another.

Meanwhile, "Church attendance" is going down, that is, only 35% support the Afghan war now according to Raw Story (not that MOMCOM cares what the little people worry about).

Goodbye Itsy Bitsy Atlantis - 2

The Ecocosmology Blog had a post Goodbye Itsy Bitsy Atlantis, about an island that has already gone under, because the water level of the oceans is rising.

The Maldives, a low-lying country in the Indian Ocean, is facing rising sea levels which could literally wipe it off the map.

Here is a letter from the president of that country last October before the 10/10/10 world workday, modified slightly for a forward look and forward hope.

Dear friends,

As President of one of the world's most climate vulnerable countries, I want to thank you for your tireless work and offer my wholehearted support for the Global Work Party on [11/11/11?].

I shall be working hard in support of [11/11/11?], up on my roof installing solar panels donated by Sungevity. But my event is just one of dozens of activities planed in the Maldives and thousands worldwide in support of this campaign.

I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to continue working to ensure that the planet meets the sustainable goal of returning CO2 concentrations to 350ppm.

For the Maldives, 350 is more than just a number: it is a passport to survival for our entire nation.

With best wishes,

President Mohamed Nasheed
President of the Maldives

The 350 movement has this to say:
Dear friends,

2010 was a bittersweet year--truly the worst of times and the best.

It was a year when we suffered with our friends around the planet, as floods wracked one country after another, fires swept Russia, and 19 nations set new temperature records; 2010 was the warmest year the earth has yet recorded.

But it was also the year when we saw the forces of hope gathering momentum. Despite the debacle in Copenhagen, millions came together in 2010 to build a powerful movement.

UPDATE: The MOMCOMmies are at it already, vowing to block any climate legislation.

This Is Your Brain On Propaganda - 2

Lets start the new year properly by discussing the origin of our thinking (which is not our brains BTW).

In the first episode of this series This Is Your Brain On Propaganda, we equated indoctrination with the effects of drug addiction.

That was done in part by doing a take-off from a famous campaign some years back that depicted one's "brain on drugs" by using the metaphor a frying egg in a frying pan.

The message was "drugs will fry your brain", so the Dredd Blog take-off depicted in the first episode of this series was "propaganda will fry your brain", which incidentally also indicates that propaganda is a "drug".

Also included in the first episode was a video from The Media Education Foundation which featured, among other things, excerpts from an interview with Noam Chomsky and others discussing one American myth: "the liberal media".

Regular readers of Dredd Blog know that we use the acronym / metaphor MOMCOM to identify the DNA of the empress's power that actually runs the U.S.A. empire.

I found a scholarly, journalistic work that I should share with you, which supports the Dredd Blog theory:
“Our military policy and our energy policy have become intertwined. They have become one and the same ... And if we continue to rely on military force to solve our resource needs, we’re in for a very bloody and dangerous and painful century indeed.”
(Michael Klare, Blood and Oil, PDF). There are various Dredd Blog series that explain the Siamese triplet bond between big military, big oil, and big media, including but not limited to: The Peak of the Oil Wars, Warriors Press For Propaganda, and Jabber The Whut? for examples.

We have also contrasted what the world thinks of MOMCOM, versus what we at home think of MOMCOM, in the post Why MOMCOM Is Not Seen As The Beast.

The triad of big military, big oil, and big media form a "complex" in more ways than one, and it damages the nation and damages the world in more ways than one.

The Dredd Blog combines ideas from the discipline of psychology, where a complex is in essence the subconscious realm of a meme complex, concluding that for the most part MOMCOM is the national institutionalization of the animation of the amygdala.

Hey Dredd Blog gang, in the coming year we will continue to give new meaning to "egg head" now won't we?

We need to bring down "the bright curtain" one brick in the wall at a time:
We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
(Pink Floyd Lyrics). I can dig it, you can dig it, and Noam Chomsky, a true educator, can dig it:
I'm by no means the first person to talk about this. George Orwell wrote about it, for example. He was discussing how in England, a free society, unpopular ideas can be suppressed without the use of force, just voluntarily, and he gave a few reasons. The most important one was a good education. He said, if you have a good education, you have instilled into you the understanding that there are certain things it wouldn't do to say -- or even to think, for that matter. This essay of his is not very well known because it wasn't published, maybe proving his thesis.
(Noam Chomsky, US Foreign Policy in the Middle East). Now go out there and don't don't say anything to expose the breasts of MOMCOM which flow with oily toxins of deceit.

Good morning Vietnam MOMCOM.
