| Mithras or The Good Shepard? |
Since then we have dug into the subject matter in the series about Mithraism (Doing The Right Thing - Mithraism - 2), which Dredd Blog argues is the underlying religion of those at the heart of the secret fundamentalism now at the heart of American Power.
Power corrupts religion too (About Toxins Of Power), so the traditional value of peace, which the people of the U.S.A. in general value highly, has degenerated into a warmongering ideology of Mithraism (The Virgin MOMCOM - 6).
In domestic politics the traditional value of "the common good" (The Common Good - 2) has degenerated into a dog-eat-dog Ayn Rand debacle (Ayn Rand: Patron Saint of The Plutocracy).
Those are some of the reasons why the fundamentalist Mithraism should be understood so that it can be resisted adequately.

The book "The Family", subtitled "The Secret Fundamentalism At The Heart Of American Power", by Jeff Sharlet, offers a look into both the conscious and the subconscious mind of the powers who control the destiny of the United States.
The book reveals why the United States will not be the nation leading the human species into the next phase of its long term survival; because the book is about "C" Street, short for Catastrophe Street.
A place where Hitler and every other despot is approved, but where those who care about global climate change and who care for the survival of the ecosystem are derogatorily called "tree huggers" and worse.
These preachers of hate in the name of the Bible say that Jesus preached domination of everything through any means possible or available, which is contrary to the teaching of many other theologians.
United States Senators and House of Representatives members have lived there on Catastrophe Street for years, and they really do believe hatred and utter dominance is the good and godly path for the future.
That is why two wars have been wasting America for so many years against the votes and wishes of the citizens of the United States, and why the United States has been plundered into economic oblivion during that time.

ReplyDelete"August 6 marks 68 years since the United States committed what is arguably the single gravest act of terrorism that the world has ever known. Terrorism means the deliberate targeting of innocent civilians, and targeted they were, with the cutely named "Little Boy" atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima at a location and time of day when, as the Strategic Bombing Survey commissioned by President Harry Truman conceded, "nearly all the school children ... were at work in the open," a perfect opportunity for mass incineration.
"That fateful summer, 8:15," the mayor of Hiroshima recalled at a memorial service in 2007, "the roar of a B-29 breaks the morning calm. A parachute opens in the blue sky. Then suddenly, a flash, an enormous blast -- silence -- hell on earth. The eyes of young girls watching the parachute were melted. Their faces became giant charred blisters. The skin of people seeking help dangled from their fingernails. ... Others died when their eyeballs and internal organs burst from their bodies. Hiroshima was a hell where those who somehow survived envied the dead. Within the year, 140,000 had died." (Link).
