Will the truth still be allowed to be told if or when the supremes finish with "the law of the internet"?
The scuttlebutt concerning this episode indicates that:
"Congress, the White House and now the US Supreme Court are all focusing their attention on a federal law that’s long served as a legal shield for online platforms.
This week, the Supreme Court is set to hear oral arguments on two pivotal cases dealing with online speech and content moderation. Central to the arguments is “Section 230,” a federal law that’s been roundly criticized by both Republicans and Democrats for different reasons but that tech companies and digital rights groups have defended as vital to a functioning internet."
(Link @ Fig. 1). If they do to that law what they did to Roe v Wade will Dredd Blog et alia be able to say that the Covid epidemic, past and present, should be attributed to certain activities of "the-mass-production-of-animals-for-food" industry?
Or will Dredd Blog be allowed to quote those who say or write this I wonder:
(The Atlantic, Jennifer Senior, emphasis added). The Washington Post editorial that she mentioned puts it this way:
So Sayeth The Supremes? |
"When the covid-19 pandemic first stormed the globe three years ago, the coronavirus was believed to be largely a respiratory ailment that also damaged the cells that line the blood vessels. But research is now showing that the virus can spread throughout the body and remain lodged in organs. This might offer one clue about the lingering phenomenon of “long covid” and suggest why it will remain a serious problem for individuals and the heath-care system for some time to come. The entire world will have to prepare for a legacy of long-covid sufferers."
(The pandemic after the pandemic). The long, long list of data presented here on Dredd Blog has pointed out exhaustively that (in scientific thinking) it is fundamental that the cause must be discovered, not the effect (Causality).
But in order to deal with the cause, one must discover what the cause is; but not so with the effect, the effect is easy to see, feel, and describe accurately.
The effect realm is the realm of lazy scientists, the cause realm is the realm of competent and diligent scientists.
The "One has to think of long COVID as a chronic illness—cause unknown, cure unknown, recovery timetable (assuming there is one) unknown" statement means that treating the effect is all that is really "known", which is a recipe for a long pandemic.
It is a money source for Big Pharma and the gang, and will continue until the cause is dealt with (On The Origin of the Genes of Viruses - 15).
The cause of "long covid" is the failure to identify the home microbe of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
"The cause of 'long covid' is the failure to identify the home microbe of the SARS-CoV-2 virus" ... maybe this, on a similar note, will enlighten "Bacteria from meat could be causing more than half a million UTIs in the US every year, study estimates" (Link)
