I also have to give credit to a commentor who made a comment on my criticism of the GOP heavyweights for not allowing their people to vote for the GOP candidate of their choice (Doomer Tuesday).
That commenter wrote "Look for the GOP voting school to evolve" (comment by Randy).
Today, First Professor of The GOP University, Gov. Mitt Romney, delivered his first lecture on "How To Vote Properly and please the Lord GOP."
I can't say that I disagreed with the obvious things he indicated in that lecture, but I saw through it for what it was.
They are trying to save their majority in the Senate.
The Donald can stop that along with losing the presidential race for them.
Who the democratic nominee will be is equally clouded with intrigue.
Will Hill be indicted like the war hero General
Or Will Hill's speeches extolling the virtues of Wall Street be kept secret?
That is our homework assignment.
This collapse of the minds of Americans is only beginning, as I have indicated for a while:

In essence then, when governments, businesses, and those behind them decide to deceive the people "for their own good", they are actually injecting dementia into the populace.
With the massive technologies we have for spreading deceit "through the air waves", we can even say that the disease has become airborne, which usually strikes terror into the hearts of the Center For Disease Control, because that brings on pandemics of the untreatable kind.
But there are obviously times when entire nations "go crazy", and do strange things. Things like attacking other nations for no sound reason, or becoming inexplicably belligerent, or the like.
There is a large amount of data indicating that the amygdala, a particular structure in the brain, is strongly involved during the learning of "conditioned" fear ... distinct neuronal circuits within the central nucleus of the amygdala ... are specifically involved in acquisition and control of behavioural fear responses ... researchers have recently discovered that ... prolonged activation of this defense system may lead to emotional disorders.
We don't need no education

We have noted that the primary thrust of this series is a focus on the dementia of cultures, societies, or civilizations, rather than a focus on the essence of individual forms of dementia, except of course, where those forms are indistinguishable in some significant way.
For a spark of clarity, let me first say that one example of "social dementia" would be a well known social dynamic called "social darwinism", which is touched upon from another angle in the Dredd Blog post "Ayn Rand: Patron Saint of The Plutocracy."
So then, don't these factors beg the question, "why don't the people know about this?", which leads to the answer: epic propaganda programs designed to deceive the people.
The damage in the form of dementia has been done, and still is being done to the U.S. citizenry.

Some observers see this dementia originating in the early 20th century when government or those behind government perceived a need to control the people, but realized that they could not do it by physical means.
Thus they took to propaganda in an effort to control the minds rather than use physical control.
Eventually this led to a mega-industry of businesses whose function was to deceive the people into believing something other than the truth of events occurring around them.
This series is about the paranoia that begins with the official propaganda of fear, then spreads through the entire society.
With damaging results.
Today we take a look at the impact of paranoia on our national government.
The case we look at is one where the minds of officials become so warped and blinded they act as if they were carelessly firing into a crowd of innocent people.
Evidence also seems to indicate that the leaders of a superpower, when not countered by another major power, when lacking an arms race to run or territory and influence to contest, may be particularly susceptible to the growth of delusional thinking, and in particular to fantasies of omnipotence.

Just as still water is a breeding ground for mosquitos, so single-superpowerdom seems to be a breeding ground for delusion. This is a phenomenon about which we have to be cautious, since we know little enough about it and are, of course, in its midst. But so far, there seem to have been three stages to the development of whatever delusional process is underway.

... no one can look at Planet Earth today and not see that the single superpower, while capable of creating instability and chaos, is limited indeed in its ability to control developments. Its president can't even form a "coalition of the willing" to launch a limited series of missile attacks on the military facilities of the Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad. From Latin America to the Greater Middle East, the American system is visibly weakening, while at home, inequality and poverty are on the rise, infrastructure crumbles, and national politics is in a state of permanent “gridlock.”
Such a world should be fantastical enough for the wildest sort of dystopian fiction, for perhaps a novel titled 2014. What, after all, are we to make of a planet with a single superpower that lacks genuine enemies of any significance and that, to all appearances, has nonetheless been fighting a permanent global war with ... well, itself -- and appears to be losing?
This series has been about the government and business miscalculating the detrimental impact that their propaganda has on the public.
They evidently do not think that using misinformation, lies, and other forms of propaganda to control and manipulate the public has an adverse impact on the public.
Let's hope that is the case, instead of the alternative, which would be that they deliberately damage the minds of the populace with falsehood.
And with regard to any therapeutic application of our knowledge, what would be the use of the most acute analysis of social neuroses, since no one possesses power to compel the community to adopt the therapy? In spite of all these difficulties, we may expect that one day someone will venture upon this research into the pathology of civilized communities.

The GOP has been driving their people crazy for a long time, now they turn on a dime and want them to become sane all of a sudden.
This when it is seemingly too late.
What would it matter anyway?
Is it the Iraq or Libya murderous frenzies that they have done in our sight driving us over the edge?
Clue: they have been this way "forever," and will only get worse (S.Ct Eugenics).
There is a spot-on methaphor which applies (Iraqi Dam danger).
The bottom line is that civilization is, like Greenland and Antarctica, melting from deep down rather than all at the surface.
And like America, is also melting from "the everywhere."
It is exactly because the epigovernment that rules us, has it exactly wrong:

Our invisible governors are, in many cases, unaware of the identity of their fellow members in the inner cabinet.
They govern us by their qualities of natural leadership, their ability to supply needed ideas and by their key position in the social structure. Whatever attitude one chooses to take toward this condition, it remains a fact that in almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons — a trifling fraction of our hundred and twenty [now 320] million — who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind, who harness old social forces and contrive new ways to bind and guide the world.

It is the purpose of this book to explain the structure of the mechanism which controls the public mind, and to tell how it is manipulated by the special pleader who seeks to create public acceptance for a particular idea or commodity. The Harm Oil-Qaeda Has Done
The purpose was to expose its conspiracy to commit depraved heart murder (DHM) against civilization (Oil-Qaeda & MOMCOM Conspire To Commit Depraved-Heart Murder, 2, 3; MOMCOM's Mass Suicide & Murder Pact, 2, 3, 4, 5).
There is no meaningful distinction between DHM and extinction, other than the fact that there is a statute of limitations on extinction (The Extinction of Charleston, ... Philadelphia, ... Washington, D.C., ... Robust Sea Ports, ... Boston, ... Miami, ... Manzanillo, ... Houston, ... Providence, ... Chesapeake Bay Islands).
Oil-Qaeda is the largest psychopathic-meme-complex in history, exhibiting all of the maladjusted behavioural characteristics of individual psychopaths, but doing so in concert as a group:

The [private empire] launched cutting-edge research into the effects that carbon dioxide emissions would have on the climate. ExxonMobil devolved from Humble Oil-Qaeda.
Rather than accept what their own scientists were saying, top executives at [Oil-Qaeda] started a massive campaign of disinformation. By 1997, the chief executive of [Oil-Qaeda], Lee Raymond, was publicly claiming that the connection between human activities and climate change was inconclusive and uncertain. Forbes magazine wrote that Raymond “used his executive chair as a platform for espousing his disbelief in global warming.”
[Oil-Qaeda] created advertisements that contradicted its own research on global warming. The [private empire] funded the Global Climate Coalition, an organization of [criminally conspiring] companies dedicated to derailing government efforts to slash emissions from fossil fuels.
[Oil-Qaeda] also spent millions of dollars in the form of political campaign donations, lobbying fees and public relations strategies to discredit climate science and disrupt any forceful state or federal action to cut carbon dioxide emissions. The [private empire] also supported think tanks that attempted to discredit climate science and scientists.
In 2001, [Oil-Qaeda] lobbyists helped convince President George W. Bush to pull out of the Kyoto Protocol. By 2006, the [private empire] was funneling tens of millions of dollars to at least 43 organizations dedicated to discrediting climate science. [Oil-Qaeda] opposed historic climate and energy legislation such as the American Clean Energy and Security Act, also known as the Waxman-Markey Bill. The measure died in the Senate in 2009."
It does not matter which way we look at it, the bottom line is that Oil-Qaeda, through its deception, is the force of cognition that has led civilization to the brink (Civilization Is Now On Suicide Watch, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).
Regular readers know that Oil-Qaeda likes to remind us that it is "not an American company" (MOMCOM: The Private Parts, 2, 3, 4, 5).
I like to remind Oil-Qaeda that where it makes its bed does not matter, what matters is the will or lack thereof of officials charged with prosecuting crimes against the United States (Follow The Immunity, 2, 3).
The corruption of officials has been the mainstay of Oil-Qaeda, and still is to this very day.
Until that changes, extinction gets closer each day.

Today we review an NSA spying case that caught one of the queens of Stalingrad flat footed (The Queens of Stalingrad).
Why do they not understand that letting government evolve and morph to the right always comes back to bite?
And more often than not that bite takes the head off first, then nibbles on the left overs (A Tale of Coup Cities - 4, Deja Voodoo, ACLU vs. Clapper, Alexander, Hagel, Holder, and Mueller - 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1).
Anyway, here is some Dredd Blog information from this date in 2009 talking abut NSA spying:
The head of the House Intelligence Committee who allowed Americans to be spied on got caught in the web she helped weave:
Rep. Jane Harman , the California Democrat with a longtime involvement in intelligence issues, was overheard on an NSA wiretap telling a suspected Israeli agent that she would lobby the Justice Department to reduce espionage-related charges against two officials of the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee, the most powerful pro-Israel organization in Washington.(CQ Politics, link below). A corrupt banana republic regime never passes up on an opportunity to blackmail to get their way.
Harman was recorded saying she would “waddle into” the AIPAC case “if you think it’ll make a difference,” according to two former senior national security officials familiar with the NSA transcript.
In exchange for Harman’s help, the sources said, the suspected Israeli agent pledged to help lobby Nancy Pelosi , D-Calif., then-House minority leader, to appoint Harman chair of the Intelligence Committee after the 2006 elections, which the Democrats were heavily favored to win.
Seemingly wary of what she had just agreed to, according to an official who read the NSA transcript, Harman hung up after saying, “This conversation doesn’t exist.”
That practice comes directly from the J. Edgar Hoover "why we wire tap" textbook. A "good wire tap" is one that can be used for political hay. So the regime took it up a notch:
And that, contrary to reports that the Harman investigation was dropped for “lack of evidence,” it was Alberto R. Gonzales, President Bush’s top counsel and then attorney general, who intervened to stop the Harman probe.(CQ Politics). It is clear why the Bush II regime began to spy on Americans well before 9/11 came along, and why they were doing government by blackmail to the very end.
Why? Because, according to three top former national security officials, Gonzales wanted Harman to be able to help defend the administration’s warrantless wiretapping program, which was about break in The New York Times and engulf the White House.
Is it fair to say we can extrapolate and figure out what Cheney had in his large file cabinet, which he took with him when he left Dodge, and therefore, why the Obama Administration is not at liberty to prosecute the Bush II regime even for blatant torture crimes?
John Byrne at Raw Story has some quotes from a NYT editor who denies some of the specifics of the CQ Politics article.
The fundamental reality is that spying on Americans for political blackmail was part and parcel of FBI tactics for decades during J. Edgar Hoover. That was in the days of low technology.
The admitted NSA spying on Americans with very, very, high powered technology these days supports the premise that political blackmail may be at the heart of Obama's not being at liberty to prosecute the most horrendous torture crimes.
I think Obama is squeaky clean, so who is Obama protecting other than the torture freaks?

They are progressing all right, or better said, they are all progressing to the right.
As usual, they are doing so with dire consequences for everyone except their Oil-Qaeda cohorts and minions.
They are among all of those in The Private Empire (MOMCOM: The Private Parts, 2, 3, 4, 5) who co-own the fleets and who send those fleets to Oilandia (The Fleets & Terrorism Follow The Oil - 5).
The Decider, also known as The High Priest In Chief, dimmed the lights of The Bushie Klan, by writing a letter to the French President explaining why he invaded Iraq:
The revelation this month in GQ magazine that Donald Rumsfeld as Defense Secretary embellished top-secret wartime memos with quotations from the Bible prompts a question. Why did he believe he could influence President(Bush, God, Iraq and Gog, cf. The Dogma of The High Priest In Chief). Thus, as Dredd Blog surmised some years ago, there would need to be a rehabilitation movement in our future:

With God On Our Side
The answer may lie in an alarming story about George Bush’s Christian millenarian beliefs that has yet to come to light.
In 2003 while lobbying leaders to put together the Coalition of the Willing, President Bush spoke to France’s President Jacques Chirac. Bush wove a story about how the Biblical creatures Gog and Magog were at work in the Middle East and how they must be defeated.
In Genesis and Ezekiel Gog and Magog are forces of the Apocalypse who are prophesied to come out of the north and destroy Israel unless stopped. The Book of Revelation took up the Old Testament prophesy:
“And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle … and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.”Bush believed the time had now come for that battle, telling Chirac:
“This confrontation is willed by God, who wants to use this conflict to erase his people’s enemies before a New Age begins”.The story of the conversation emerged only because the Elysée Palace, baffled by Bush’s words, sought advice from Thomas Römer, a professor of
theology at the University of Lausanne. Four years later, Römer gave an account in the September 2007 issue of the university’s review, Allez savoir. The article apparently went unnoticed, although it was referred to in a French newspaper.

The story has now been confirmed by Chirac himself in a new book, published in France in March, by journalist Jean Claude Maurice. Chirac is said to have
been stupefied and disturbed by Bush’s invocation of Biblical prophesy to justify the war in Iraq and “wondered how someone could be so superficial and fanatical in their beliefs”.
Jeb's God is on Oil-Qaeda's Side
In the same year he spoke to Chirac, Bush had reportedly said to the Palestinian foreign minister that he was on “a mission from God” in launching the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan and was receiving commands from the Lord.
There can be little doubt now that President Bush’s reason for launching the war in Iraq was, for him, fundamentally religious. He was driven by his belief that the attack on Saddam’s Iraq was the fulfilment of a Biblical prophesy in which he had been chosen to serve as the instrument of the Lord.

Can you say "what Iraq war"?(Iraq: World's Number One Oil Producer?). Jeb Bush can't run for president unless and until his Big Brother Bush II is seen in a better light.
The whole war episode may be played out after the fact as something that heroically saved the nation from a catastrophe caused by peak oil.
Especially "since all that pie in the sky lefty Al Gore green energy is a thousand years in the future".
The billboard sign of Bush II in Texas asking "Do you miss me yet" will take on a new meaning, and he may be seen as a hero who had the vision to save the nation.
MOMCOM is going to try to wash the brains of the people, yes, scrub them so hard that her favorite bushie will be loved by all once again.
How it turns out will be determined by the propaganda techniques developed by Oil-Qaeda experts in propaganda:

On The Origin of "Conspiracy Theory" - 5
I wrote "... 'origin' and 'history' are not the same concept; 'origin' is primarily emergence into existence for the first time, while 'history' is primarily what happens after that" (On The Origin of Comets).
In this series about conspiracy theory I have tried to hold as closely to that definition as possible, by pointing out that conspiracy is something that originated before humans came into existence, something that originated in the microbial world billions of years before humans, the world that has more biomass and population than all other life forms on this planet (On The Origin of "Conspiracy Theory" - 4).
It is utterly brain-dead to try a poo-poo the reality of conspiracy theory, as establishment propagandists have found out, so they are now offering a "reason" why conspiracy theory exists.
They are doing so without even considering the origin.
Instead, they confuse recent history with the billion year old origin.
This is typical trite nonsense from paid anti-conspiracy nuts, which we exposed in previous posts of this series:
Coup conspiracies have been ongoing for thousands of years, as well as having been done in recent times, both by those inside government and those outside of government (A Tale of Coup Cities - 3, Journalism: Facts vs. Fantasy).(On The Origin of "Conspiracy Theory"). Establishment propaganda worked acceptably for the 1% for about a century:
In fact, you might be surprised how many conspiracy theories are handled by the federal and state governments on a daily basis:
Over one-quarter of all federal criminal prosecutions and a large number of state cases involve prosecutions for conspiracy.(Conspiracy Theory, 112 Yale L.J. 1307 (2003), Preface, emphasis added). That is a lot of real, serious as a heart attack, beyond a reasonable doubt, and well documented occurrences of "conspiracy theories" going on in reality before the eyes of anyone who wants to see them.
Notice the legal reality that conspiracy is a separate crime, different from the planned crime yet-to-be-done:
Consider how a law school textbook might introduce the elements of traditional conspiracy law: Imagine that Joe and Sandra agree to rob a bank. From the moment of agreement, they can be found guilty of conspiracy even if they never commit the robbery (it’s called “inchoate liability”). Even if the bank goes out of business, they can still be liable for the conspiracy (“impossibility” is not a defense). Joe can be liable for other crimes that Sandra commits to further the conspiracy’s objective, like hot-wiring a getaway car (it’s called “Pinkerton” liability, after a 1946 Supreme Court case involving tax offenses). He can’t evade liability by staying home on the day of the robbery (a conspirator has to take an affirmative step to “withdraw”). And if the bank heist takes place, both Joe and Sandra can be charged with bank robbery and with the separate crime of conspiracy, each of which carries its own punishment (the crime of conspiracy doesn’t “merge” with the underlying crime). Why should conspiracy liability begin at the moment of “agreement,” before any crime is committed? Why can a conspirator be charged with both the inchoate offense of conspiracy and the robbery? Why should the law punish conspirators even if it’s impossible for them to commit the crime they planned? Why is withdrawal from a conspiracy so difficult?(ibid, "Conspiracy Theory", Article, PDF), emphasis added). Remember that those "conspiracy theories" happen every day when a criminal prosecutor has a conspiracy theory of the case in criminal conspiracy prosecutions.
One of the most important comments on deceit ... was made by Adam Smith. He pointed out that a major goal of business is to deceive and oppress the public.(Chomsky and Trivers, emphasis added). That fabrication of reality is fading fast a century later.
And one of the striking features of the modern period is the institutionalization of that process, so that we now have huge industries deceiving the public — and they're very conscious about it, the public relations industry. Interestingly, this developed in the freest countries — in Britain and the US — roughly around time of WWI, when it was recognized that enough freedom had been won that people could no longer be controlled by force. So modes of deception and manipulation had to be developed in order to keep them under control ...
Now, the American People see what is happening before "their lying eyes," as does the world (Anthraxoids, UN Damns Washington As World’s Worst Violator Of Human Rights).
The 911 Trance which the media introduced post-911, is failing to be perpetuated, and is wearing off (Choose Your Trances Carefully).
Thus, a new wave of anti-conspiracy "testimony" is being bought and paid for to try to offset this reality:
According to a 2006 Scripps Howard poll, 36 percent of all Americans believed it was "somewhat likely" or "very likely" that federal officials assisted(Paid Well To Recant A Conspiracy Theory, emphasis added). HuffPo, a conspiracy theory denialist unit, has paid this dood to try to convert Americans back into being duped by the massive propaganda industry on the issue of conspiracy.
in the 9/11 attacks or took no action to stop them because they wanted the United States to go to war in the Middle East.

Banker Jekyll Will Hyde Your Money - 11
This series, which began in August of 2009, has dealt with the subject over a span of time (Banker Jekyll Will Hyde Your Money, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10).
The subject matter is basically that the banksters make things up as they go.
Therefore we really don't know the real economic conditions, we only know what they want us to think is happening in out economy.
A case in point is that we are now being told that the 2008 economic collapse was a bit more than the Bush II Administration was aware of:
Former Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, a prominent student of the Great Depression, contends that the 2008 financial crisis was actually worse than its 1930s counterpart.(Wall Street Journal, emphasis added). They seem to never be able to figure things out ahead of time, even back in the day of that once Greatest Depression, there was hopium in the air:
Mr. Bernanke is quoted making the statement in a document filed on Aug. 22 with the U.S. Court of Federal Claims as part of a lawsuit linked to the 2008 government bailout of insurance giant American International Group Inc.
“September and October of 2008 was the worst financial crisis in global history, including the Great Depression,” Mr. Bernanke is quoted as saying in the document filed with the court. Of the 13 “most important financial institutions in the United States, 12 were at risk of failure within a period of a week or two.”
Former Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner is quoted in the document offering a similarly apocalyptic assessment. From Sept. 6 through Sept. 22, the economy was essentially “in free fall,” he said.
ON THE night of October 22, 1929, one of America’s most widely known economists addressed a great banquet of credit men. Not only were Wall Street prices not too high, he told his delighted hearers, but we were really only on the threshold of the greatest boom in the nation’s history. The prophecy evoked a burst of applause. Next morning, a few minutes after the great bell announced the opening of trading on the Stock Exchange, the storm broke. The greatest economic depression in our history was formally ushered in — though it had been in progress for some time. From this point on, as the country slowly roused itself to a consciousness of the far-spreading crisis, leaders in politics and business repeated with invincible optimism that it was all just a wholesome corrective. After several years a waggish commentator published a little volume called Oh, Yeah! It was a sardonic recording of the persistent and unconquerable stream of promises of quickly returning health. There you will find recorded the statements of statesmen, financiers, university professors, leading economists, and editors assuring the people that it was all a blessing in disguise, a corrective phenomenon, that the broad highway to renewed prosperity lay just ahead. All of which proved quite conclusively that these men did not know what they were talking about because they had no understanding of the economic system under which they lived. Do "these men" still not get it at this late date?
Regular readers know that Dredd Blog calls the structure of "the economy" a plutocracy, which is much like the feudal plutocracies based on war (see The Homeland: Big Brother Plutonomy, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and American Feudalism, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10).
The talk of wars continue in the fog of the presstitutes as the plutocracy remains clueless to history (The Peak Of The Oil Wars - 10).

Here Come The Torture Investigations - 2
Those who committed torture brought ill repute upon us with their torture of both innocent and guilty people during the Bush II years, because it does not matter whether an innocent or a guilty person is tortured in the sense that torture is illegal either before or after guilt is established (The Penalty For Torture Can Be Death, President Reagan Puts Cheney In Jail).
Well, as you know there was no justice brought to those who tortured.
Until now, albeit from afar, and it was only justice against those states in Europe that collaborated with the CIA.
The European Court of Human Rights has ruled that torture at secret U.S.eh? torture sites violated human rights:
The applicant complained that Poland, by enabling the CIA to transfer him from its territory, had exposed to him to a real and serious risk of being transferred to a jurisdiction where he would be subjected to a flagrantly unfair(ECHR, Al Nashiri v Poland). The decision is a couple of hundred pages, so you might want to read the synopsis in a news report instead (Raw Story).

If one considers the U.S.E. (The United States of Europe, 2, 3, 4) along with this ECHR ruling, the U.S.A. is looking more like an old European authoritarian state, while the new Europe is looking more like the old United States of America when there was a real constitutional democracy.
The bottom line is that the U.S. is losing its good reputation in the world, and is even seen as the number one threat to peace in the world (Poll: United States Seen As Greatest Threat To World Peace In 2013) contrary to the wishes of the people (The Wars Are un-American Says Public - 2).

On The Origin of "Conspiracy Theory" - 4
What has been disclosed in these posts is the dual nature of our culture's discourse on the subject.
In actuality, there are cultural doublespeak circuits in our cultural amygdala (Hypothesis: The Cultural Amygdala).
At a minimum those circuits cause difficulty with understanding conspiracy theory, but at a maximum that doublespeak prevents the ability to be able to objectively conceptualize this subject.
The simple dictionary meaning is a good place to begin:
conspire(Dictionary). In short, a conspiracy involves either doing something bad or doing something good together.
1. to agree together, especially secretly, to do something wrong, evil, or illegal
2. to act or work together toward the same result or goal.
It requires two or more participants.
Conspiring to rob a bank, or conspiring to do a surprise birthday party are two examples in an almost limitless list.
We ran across an event that was destined to change the official dictionary meaning.
That event was the CIA's paranoia concerning the JFK assassination.
More precisely, it was the public reaction to the official theory of the case that triggered a conspiracy itself.
Selected officials conspired to do the Warren Report, a dynamic that on its face was a good conspiracy, but then they concluded that a lone gunman did the assassination.
Large numbers of the public did not buy it, then the numbers began to grow intensely as a "conspiracy theory" culture sprang up everywhere.
So, the CIA studied how they could propagandise the situation so as to avoid the scorn of the public.
They came out with CIA Document #1035-960, which became the talking points for those media outlets which the CIA controlled or had influence over (see e.g. Mocking America).
They succeeded in corrupting the meaning of "conspiracy theory" in the eyes of the public, but the pressure mounted until congress appointed a committee that concluded "The committee believes, on the basis of the evidence available to it, that Kennedy was probably assassinated as a result of a conspiracy" (United States House Select Committee on Assassinations).
As with pre-human propaganda (On The Origin of Propaganda - 2), recent science indicates that conspiracy is a fundamental activity of biological life forms that took place long before humanity evolved.

Conspiracy is a biological fact that has taken place for billions of years now, so it is about time for our culture to give up the media-induced-fantasy about conspiracy theory.

We focused on events in Spain in that regard.
This series looks at the issue of U.S. war crimes and the global attempts to make it real (El Cid vs. Joe Six Pack, El Cid vs. Joe Six Pack - 2 , El Cid vs. Joe Six Pack - 3).
The bottom line is that there is no international justice for those who have the most powerful military (The Fog of War - McWarster McNamara) managed by a new-age feudal culture (American Feudalism - 6) in a hex of a mysterygon within an alien conundrum (Exploded Planet Hypothesis), because that military-force-enabled immunity leads to winning the budget wars (MOMCOM - A Mean Welfare Queen) without using any reason.
So, what is the status of Western Civilization's sense of justice some five years later?
The painer in chief (The Dogma of The High Priest In Chief) of those days is now a painter (Painterish) who is taking some pains, along with other establishment Reich Wingers, to get his brother elected to painer in chief II (The Rehabilitation of High Priest Bush II - 2).
The process works something like forgetting what you were watching on television five years ago, in the cab of your 18 wheeler, as you careen down a certain highway (War is the Highway 61 of the 1%) like The Universal Smedley on steroids.

It is just another coup in a long line of incremental coups that have been changing America into Amurka (A Tale of Coup Cities, A Tale of Coup Cities - 9).
Not many would have thought that they would ever try to rehabilitate the bushies in the eyes of the public, but Dredd Blog did:
Jeb Bush can't run for president unless and until his Big Brother Bush II is seen in a better light.(Dredd Blog, November 9, 2010; cf. Leadership: The Lost Art). Now that the traffic cop on steroids, Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey, has soiled his pants, Jebber The Whut is going to try to step into his large shoes.
MOMCOM is going to try to wash the brains of the people, yes, scrub them so hard that her favorite bushie will be loved by all once again.
Don't misunderestimate High Priest Bush II, or misunderinvestigate this seemingly impossible propaganda task, because they are deceit on steroids.
Meanwhile, Karl "We Make Reality" Rove has promised the Jebber that he can win, for a cool billion buckos ("thanks supreme five"), and all the sycophants have nodded their wobble-heads toward heaven, praising Saint Adelson of Las Vegas.
So, the horse-shit race is on.

Another Spring of Whores of War
Prior to that the Taliban had eradicated the poppy / heroin trade, which must have angered traffickers in the CIA.
AIG was trafficking in many things in Afghanistan and Iraq, including bail-out money.
An official of the Bush II administration was sent to prison for Iraq money laundering.
Republicans were messing with elections and being criminally prosecuted for it.
War was in every Pentagon official's blood then, so look over the posts at Dredd Blog on this date in 2009, then compare them to what is in every Pentagon official's blood today on the first day of spring:
“Russia has increased its [defence] budget but let me remind you that you have an ally [U.S.eh?] that has a [war] budget ten times larger than the next ten nations in the world,” said Mr Biden.(Economist, cf. The Blaze). He ended with "may God protect our troops" (Whitehouse Press Office).
They are still singing that God on our Side thingy.

First Day of Spring 2009
Spring means different things to different people.The winter of poppy cultivation had come to Afghanistan shortly before 2001.
On October 7, 2001, military strikes against Afghanistan were launched by the United States and an international coalition that included Great Britain, Canada, Australia, Germany and France.
The poppy cultivation had been almost completely removed from Afghan culture by the time that the invasion took place.
It did not take long for Afghan poppy cultivation to spring up again. By 2002 the spring of poppy cultivation was returning strong.
By 2006 Afghanistan was leading the world in poppy cultivation once again:
U.N. figures to be released in September are expected to show that Afghanistan's poppy production has risen up to 15 percent since 2006 and that the country now accounts for 95 percent of the world's crop, 3 percentage points more than last year, officials familiar with preliminary statistics told The Associated Press.(Washington Post). An increase in heroin addiction and drug wars was the inevitable result.
AIG Liquidity Corporation & Family
We have been doing a series on the AIG family of corporations. The Banque, the international, and the one in the spotlight.According to SEC filings, AIG Liquidity Corp. was created in 1992 as a Delaware corporation. It was a subsidiary to AIG.
That SEC filing says all capital stock is initially owned by AIG which was shown as a money making business ("AIG and its consolidated subsidiaries"), an average of 3.53 pct. "ratio of earnings to fixed charges" from 1998 to June 30, 2003.
A later SEC Filing in 2004 repeats those figures, and sets forth PricewaterhouseCooper as experts on that issue. Other online sources show the optimism continued through 2006.
After Greenberg was ousted from the company in 2007 and J.J. Cassano was put in the lead of the financial products division, things began to change.
Cassano, among other things, discontinued the hedging that Greenberg had kept in place. That means that a major shield of protection was removed.
Perhaps Cassano really did believe his own smoke that the shield was not needed:
"It is hard for us, without being flippant, to even see a scenario within any kind of [rhyme] or reason that would see us losing one dollar in any of those transactions," he told investors.(Out on the False Front, Daily News link). But it was not too very long before reality burned through the smoke and Moody was downgrading AIG:
New York, September 15, 2008 -- Moody's Investors Service has downgraded the senior unsecured debt rating of American Internation Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG) to A2 from Aa3 in light of the continuing deterioration in the US housing market and the consequent impact on the group's liquidity and capital position due to its related investment and derivitive exposures. The company's long-term and Prime-1 short-term ratings were placed on review for possible further downgrade.(Moody's Notice, pdf). This shows the danger inherent in business propaganda. Those who practice it are eventually caught in its web and they can't get out.
Election Officials' Lack of Integrity
In Clay County, Kentucky, the election officials were evidently corrupted by the toxins within power.A federal grand jury has indicted them for election crimes. A spokesman for the Kentucky state government stated:
“The allegations as detailed in the U.S. Attorney’s indictments, if found to be true, represent a great injustice to the citizens of Clay County. Our office appreciates the U.S. Attorney taking these allegations seriously and working with us to rid our state of election fraud. Our office cooperated with authorities on this matter, including referring voting irregularities from the 2006 primary elections to law enforcement officials. We hope that the judicial system will work expeditiously on this matter so that the dark cloud of suspicion hanging over these elections will not affect future elections.”(Les Fugate, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State).

AIG Iraq
From previous articles it is clear that AIG is a company that is not afraid to try new things.Look at AIG Global Marine @ Iraq for example. Or other AIG endeavors in Iraq.
AIG has advertised that it has extensive capacity to handle many Iraq reconstruction and other financial endeavours.
It is interesting that this information is found on Iraq Coalition Org website:
AIG member companies have the capacity and expertise to handle the insurance needs of contractors and companies doing business in Iraq. There will be a variety of unique coverages needed in this effort. Listed below are some of the core coverages AIG member companies can provide. A more extensive list of products and services can be provided as individually required.(Iraq Coalition, PDF). It must have worried AIG to know that that area of Iraqi "business endeavours" landed some Bush II officials in prison for a long time:
Bob Stein, the comptroller of the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq, received the longest sentence of any Bush official (as of yet) - nine years in prison for money laundering, conspiracy and bribery ... some of the money ... was cash in suitcases ...(BBC, Wikipedia). And they must have been especially concerned to find that their bonus payments of $165 million, which drove the USA crazy, is dwarfed by Iraq reconstruction fraud that would shame even Bernie Madoff:
In what could turn out to be the greatest fraud in US history, American authorities have started to investigate the alleged role of senior military officers in the misuse of $125bn (£88bn) in a US -directed effort to reconstruct Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein. The exact sum missing may never be clear, but a report by the US Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction (SIGIR) suggests it may exceed $50bn, making it an even bigger theft than Bernard Madoff's notorious Ponzi scheme.(British Independent). Yes, to be associated with large scale business endeavors in such a fraud rich environment, especially since they have banks in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Switzerland, was surely something they avoided like the plague.
That may not be the case, however, if the investigation of AIG's charges to taxpayers for federal contractors in Iraq, including KBR of Haliburton / Cheney "fame".
The Freedom Is Back In FOIA
President Obama and AG Holder have made it clear that the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is once again for real.In a memorandum sent to all administrative agencies AG Holder said:
A Presumption of Openness(DOJ Website, Holder Memo, PDF). Ladies and gentlemen, start your inquiries.
As President Obama instructed in his January 21 FOIA Memorandum, "The Freedom of Information Act should be administered with a clear presumption: In the face of doubt, openness prevails." This presumption has two important implications.
First, an agency should not withhold information simply because it may do so legally. I strongly encourage agencies to make discretionary disclosures of information. An agency should not withhold records merely because it can demonstrate, as a technical matter, that the records fall within the scope of a FOIA exemption.
Second, whenever an agency determines that it cannot make full disclosure of a requested record, it must consider whether it can make partial disclosure. Agencies should always be mindful that the FOIA requires them to take reasonable steps to segregate and release nonexempt information. Even if some parts of a record must be withheld, other parts either may not be covered by a statutory exemption, or may be covered only in a technical sense unrelated to the actual impact of disclosure.
It is almost sickening to look back at lies and whoredom done in the name of the good people of America, especially when those sick foreign policies are still being implemented by the follow-up Obama Administration.
