All Weather is Local - 4

Damaged by Oil-Qaeda
Are you noticing record breaking cold weather in some southern states such as Texas, record snow in other states such as Arkansas, even as 95 degree temperatures with hot wild fires are burning in California, all of which are happening at the same time?

Do you also remember the past two years when the Army Corps of Engineers was dynamiting levees in the Midwest along the Mississippi River to avoid catastrophic flooding further down river?

"The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers used dynamite to blast open the levee in three locations on May 2 [2011] to relieve flooding in Cairo, IL. As a result, about 200 square miles of fertile farmland was flooded".

Do you also remember that the very next year, 2012, the water level in the same Mississippi River became so low that commercial barge traffic was impaired?

"The worst drought in half a century has brought water levels in the Mississippi close to historic lows and could shut down all shipping ... the second extreme event on the river in 18 months, after flooding in the spring of 2011".

So, one year they are bombing the levees along the banks that restrain the river, but the next year they are bombing the bottom of the river to try to make it deeper.

One year has dangerously high water levels, the next year has dangerously low water levels.

In this Dredd Blog series that links to related posts from time to time (e.g. Parochial Climate & Parochial Mentality) we have been discussing how merely analyzing local weather is not the way to determine whether or not there has been damage to a Global Climate System.

No, the proper way to use local weather in climate system analysis is to notice the global perspective in the global climate system and the "local weather" of other places around the globe.

"Out of sight, out of mind" is a dangerous way to analyze the impact that damage to the global climate system has worldwide:
America’s top military officer in charge of monitoring hostile actions by North Korea, escalating tensions between China and Japan, and a spike in computer attacks traced to China provides an unexpected answer when asked what is the biggest long-term security threat in the Pacific region: climate change.

Navy Admiral Samuel J. Locklear III, in an interview at a Cambridge hotel Friday after he met with scholars at Harvard and Tufts universities, said significant upheaval related to the warming planet “is probably the most likely thing that is going to happen ... that will cripple the security environment, probably more likely than the other scenarios we all often talk about.’’
(The Common Good - 6, emphasis added). An Admiral in the Pentagon heads up the Navy's global planning strategy understands the same vision:
This Navy Admiral even believes that Singapore will no longer be the greatest ocean port, but that a port in Greenland will take that honor, because after the polar ice caps melt in the Arctic, the fabled Northwest Passage will become strategic, and the Panama Canal will become somewhat of a museum piece.
(Has The Navy Fallen For The Greatest Hoax?). Alas, the judicial system seems to have fallen for the same "hoax":
A well-documented rise in global temperatures has coincided with a significant increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Respected scientists believe the two trends are related. For when carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere, it acts like the ceiling of a greenhouse, trapping solar energy and retarding the escape of reflected heat. It is therefore a species—the most important species—of a “greenhouse gas.”

Calling global warming “the most pressing environmental challenge of our time,” a group of States, local governments, and private organizations, alleged in a petition for certiorari that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has abdicated its responsibility under the Clean Air Act to regulate the emissions of four greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide.
(Have Courts Fallen For The Greatest Hoax?, citing Massachusetts v. EPA, 549 U.S. 497, 2007). So, when you hear "snowpocalypse" from the lips of the Luddites in the House of Representatives, remember the parameters of their parochial minds (ibid, Parochial Climate & Parochial Mentality).

Some locals can say "it was the warmest July" while other locals can say "it was the coldest July", and both be correct (Coldest July or Warmest July? - 2).

However, neither would be ultimately correct on the global scale of the global climate system that has been severely damaged and continues to be further damaged year by year.

The Devil Is Not The Only Thing In The Details

Are those deep lines strata?
Science is one of those disciplines, like practicing law, where details are not avoided like the plague.

At least, that is the common perception of those disciplines.

By and large it is quite true that scientists and lawyers are very expert at noting the import of details.

So, in the spirit of appreciating amateurs who also sometimes notice details that even the professionals miss, today we take a look at some detail that scientists may have missed:

Notice the lines of strata on the planet in the photo?

Notice that the strata are not blotted out by impacts that formed deep craters, because the strata go deep and all the way through?

Check out the close up for better detail.

The European Space Agency (ESA), which took the photo, has had a space craft orbiting Mars for several years.

A revolution in the understanding of the planet Mars has been taking place as a result of that ESA mission, together with several U.S. missions to the red planet.

I want to talk about a hypothesis or theory, set forth by a well known astronomer, which would support a hypothesis that the strata lines on the object in the photo are there because, under the Exploded Planet Hypothesis or Theory, (EPH or EPT), it could be a photo of a chunk of a planet that blew up long, long, long ago.

Generally strata are laid down by the effects of erosion, either by liquid, atmospheric winds, volcanism of various sorts, or a combination of any or all of those over a long span of time.

If these lines are that type of strata, then it is likely that a very long time transpired during which the deposits that make up the strata were laid down.

Obviously that does not happen on any asteroid, or similar body, nor would such lines be at an angle opposite the gravitational direction as is the case in the photo.

Ok, so now you who didn't guess earlier know that the photo is of Phobos, the largest moon of Mars, and that it is not a photo of a planet.

But is it a chunk of the now missing planet which once filled the great gap between Mars and Jupiter, where now there are only asteroids remaining in the junk yard of rock and debris we call the asteroid belt?

A now missing planet which exploded and left the chunk in the photo to be caught by the gravity of Mars, and to then become a moon of Mars?

The EPH or EPT is an old idea which has been subscribed to by some good astronomers, who were of course criticized by their fellow astronomers because they did not follow the crowd to accept the theory pronounced "okay" by the government.

NASA is the government you know, and they are political you know. You didn't?

Anyway, some missions to Phobos are in the planning stages and we will "soon" find out about the strata on Phobos.

The EPH has had proven predictions in the past. The EPH has been tested enough, in my opinion, to move it up a notch to a theory, the EPT, but not everyone agrees.

The EPT predicts that when Phobos is studied closely and samples of the various layers in the photo are examined, it will be shown that they are, like strata on Mars, Earth, and other planets, the result of deposits over a long period of time.

If so, then the argument that Phobos is a chunk from a larger body or planet as set forth in the EPH or EPT will have been further justified.

Then we wait for the empire to strike back.

A related post here concerns the asteroid Vespa and its strata looking lines.

The Matriarch of the Matrix - 3

The Neural Network Inside MOMCOM
In this series we have been using the literary technique of metaphor and/or epitome to assist us with visualizing the overwhelming power of propaganda in our modern world.

Before we get on with it, make no mistake that it takes great power to hide incredibly huge structures in plain sight, as the world of the matrix did.

In the first post we gave the general background for the series, then in the second post we attached the dynamic to our several series that describe a structure we call MOMCOM.

The scientific metaphor and epitome of the series may have led some readers to not take it as seriously as they might, so in today's post I am going to show the strong reality side of the hypothesis by using an actual physical reality that is at first a bit beyond belief ("truth is stranger than fiction").

An old blues song by Willie Dixon has the lyric "the strong overpower the weak, the smart overpower the strong" (see video at the end of Bully Worship: The Universal Religion - 5).

This fits in with the notions of the cat and mouse game and the term game changer.

In a recent post (Oil-Qaeda: The Deadliest Parasite Of Civilization) we read about a smart microbe (Toxoplasma Gondii, "Toxo") so tiny you can't see it without a microscope, yet it uses a cat and a mouse in a way that is a game changer fit for a gold medal at the Olympic Games (see also Hypothesis: Microbes Generate Toxins of Power - 6).

Toxo is the epitome of the dynamics of MOMCOM, the Matriarch Of The Matrix, because Toxo uses the cat to reproduce itself inside the cat's intestines, but is thereafter excreted out of the cat back into the ground.

Toxo solves that problem by making the cat feces attractive to mice who then ingest the tiny, smart microbe along with the cat feces.

Toxo then does nanosurgery on the mouse's brain, which among other things, makes cat urine smell like enticing perfume instead of terrifying the mouse as it would under normal circumstances.

Toxo also removes the fear of cats from the mouse's natural security system circuitry within the amygdala of the mouse's brain.

That is how Toxo gets back inside the cat -- when the mouse "forgets" to conscientiously evade the cat (mice are cat food) it is game over.

The propaganda system dynamic inside MOMCOM is like the biological parasite Toxo that does brain surgery on mice: "On a certain level, this is a protozoan parasite that knows more about the neurobiology of anxiety and fear than 25,000 neuroscientists standing on each other's shoulders" (ibid, "Hypothesis: Microbes Generate Toxins of Power - 6", and "Oil-Qaeda: The Deadliest Parasite Of Civilization", quoting Dr. Robert Sapolsky, Stanford University).

A similar powerful propaganda reality is hidden in plain sight within current society:
A group of US marketing researchers claim that brand owners can make their customers believe they had a better experience of a product or service than they really did by bombarding them with positive messages after the event. Advocates of the technique, known as "memory morphing", claim it can be used to improve customers' perceptions of products and encourage them to repeat their purchases and recommend brands to friends.

"When asked, many consumers insist that they rely primarily on their own first-hand experience with products – not advertising – in making purchasing decisions. Yet, clearly, advertising can strongly alter what consumers remember about their past, and thus influence their behaviours," he writes in his book, How Customers Think. He says that memories are malleable, changing every time they come to mind, and that brands can use this to their advantage. "What consumers recall about prior product or shopping experiences will differ from their actual experiences if marketers refer to those past experiences in positive ways," he continues.
(Hypothesis: The Cultural Amygdala). The word "advertising" seems deceptively like the "perfume" mentioned in the cat and mouse game story above, especially if we consider two more characteristics of that part of the matrix:
One of the most important comments on deceit, I think, was made by Adam Smith. He pointed out that a major goal of business is to deceive and oppress the public.

And one of the striking features of the modern period is the institutionalization of that process, so that we now have huge industries deceiving the public — and they're very conscious about it, the public relations industry. Interestingly, this developed in the freest countries — in Britain and the US — roughly around time of WWI, when it was recognized that enough freedom had been won that people could no longer be controlled by force. So modes of deception and manipulation had to be developed in order to keep them under control
"...
(The Deceit Business). Shocking as that may seem, it is only the thin veneer at the surface, because it has been said that you can't understand American cultural history unless you know who The Sentient Machines are in this metaphor or epitome we are analyzing today:
Today, few people outside the public relations profession recognize the name of Edward L. Bernays. As the year 2000 approaches, however, his name deserves to figure on historians' lists of the most influential figures of the 20th century.

It is impossible to fundamentally grasp the social, political, economic and cultural developments of the past 100 years without some understanding of Bernays and his professional heirs in the public relations industry. PR is a 20th century phenomenon, and Bernays -- widely eulogized as the "father of public relations" at the time of his death in 1995 -- played a major role in defining the industry's philosophy and methods.
...
"Bernays' papers . . . provide illuminating and sometimes disturbing background on some of the most interesting episodes of twentieth-century history, from the way American tobacco tycoons made it socially acceptable for women to smoke to the way other titans of industry persuaded us to pave over our landscape and switch to beer as the 'beverage of moderation.' The companies involved aren't likely to release their records of those campaigns, assuming they still exist. But Bernays saved every scrap of paper he sent out or took in . . . In so doing, he let us see just how policies were made and how, in many cases, they were founded on deception."

In an industry that is notable for its mastery of evasions and euphemisms, Bernays stood out for his remarkable frankness. He was a propagandist and proud of it.
(On The Origin of "Conspiracy Theory" - 2). Yes, Bernays put the "Toxo" in the media (McTell News).

Bernays as a government employee / contractor was an evangelist of propaganda, and he literally wrote the book on it:
It is the purpose of this book to explain the structure of the mechanism which controls the public mind, and to tell how it is manipulated by the special pleader who seeks to create public acceptance for a particular idea or commodity. It will attempt at the same time to find the due place in the modern democratic scheme for this new propaganda and to suggest its gradually evolving code of ethics and practice.
(A Closer Look At MOMCOM's DNA - 4, quoting from Propaganda). That latter link is to a free copy of his book in PDF format.

Moving on, the foundation of the essential behavior of microbes, whether good microbes (symbiont to humans) or bad microbes (parasites like Toxo) is communication; because as Dr. Bonnie Bassler of Princeton University said, "without communication they can do nothing, but through communication they can be very powerful" (How Microbes Communicate In The Tiniest Language).

Regular readers know that Dredd Blog has often focused on the part of MOMCOM that supplies energy to the communication dynamic of MOMCOM.

See an older post A Closer Look At MOMCOM's DNA - 2 as well as the recent post Oil-Qaeda: The Indictment - 2 for examples of how totally we are all enveloped within the MOMCOM matrix.

In closing today's post, I suggest that we try to remember the character Cypher in The Matrix movie.

Cypher was an individual who got tired of fighting the matrix, then sold out those who had been awakened to become free of the matrix deception, and who were therefore trying to free others.
"What is wrong with tyranny? This tastes so good!"

Then notice these words in the lyrics of a song we recently took note of:

I'd love to change the world
But I don't know what to do
So I'll leave it up to you

(Glory Daze - 2). How similar is that to the traitor concept in the matrix exemplified by Cypher, the guy who snitched out his own so that the agents of artificial intelligence would then revert him back into the unconscious illusion of the matrix?

Yes, one has to wonder about the old saying concerning "science fiction" as applied to The Matrix -- there is sometimes more truth than fiction in it.

The Common Good - 7

Some call this "The Birthplace of Freedom"
On this date, in 2009, Dredd Blog asked the question "what", not "who", is America's greatest enemy.

So, who do you ask such a question -- if you want an answer free from political, scientific, and current cultural bias?

Who do you ask when you want a "disinterested" party, when obviously in today's warmongering wartocracy one would not ask government officials?
Wartocracy City

But wait ... asking a government official during a little trip in a time machine ... the Wayback Machine ... to ask the person who wrote "The Bill of Rights" ... who is affectionately called "The Father of The Constitution" ... that should do the job, so here is that post of 2009 to answer the question.

Let that person tell us what is the greatest threat to the common good:

This is an ancient question, but a question with one very clear answer.

An answer from the sages in our past who we are very fortunate to have had, but sages which we have ignored to our great demise in recent times.

An answer that seems today to be totally and completely at odds with the conventional wisdom-hype and propaganda, which is composed of the glorification of the greatest source of the toxins of power.

Our founders were well aware of the question and the answer hundreds of years ago.

They spoke the answer with unmistakable words and with certain clarity:
Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes; and armies, and debts, and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. In war, too, the discretionary power of the Executive is extended; its influence in dealing out offices, honors, and emoluments is multiplied: and all the means of seducing the minds, are added to those of subduing the force, of the people. The same malignant aspect in republicanism may be traced in the inequality of fortunes, and the opportunities of fraud, growing out of a state of war, and in the degeneracy of manners and of morals, engendered by both. No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare. Those truths are well established.
(James Madison, emphasis added). The visionary who made that statement was the 4th President of the United States, Bill of Rights author, Congressman, Cabinet Member, and who was also called the "Father of the U.S. Constitution".

The above quote is from his "Political Observations," April 20, 1795, in Letters and Other Writings of James Madison, Volume IV, page 491-492.

Notice, in the quote above, how Madison equated or associated the toxins of power with disease epidemic concepts, saying that the war toxin "develops the germ of every other" anti-freedom toxin.

War enhances the spread of corrupting toxins.

Clearly, he is saying that war is a corrupting toxin that generates other corrupting toxins, which will eventually destroy what he called "public freedom".

Further, war, the greatest source of toxins of power, is the province of the military, therefore, what Madison said about war applies without restriction to the military.

It is no wonder that President General Dwight Eisenhower warned us, with great concern, about that very dangerous source of the toxins of power we always face.

That is also why war is given the highest number in the tables of toxins on this blog.

Glory Daze - 2

"The common people don't want war"
This series concerns the notion of a daze or a trance that can not only fall upon individuals, but also this series concerns the notion of a daze or trance that can fall upon groups, nations, and civilizations.

When that happens a Groundhog Day habitual way of doing things sets in, often hidden in plain sight (Groundhog Day & The Climate of Fear).

Yes, "Katrina response" behavior evolves into "Sandy response" behavior, that is, doing the same thing repeatedly, but expecting a different outcome each time.

Observance of this phenomenon is not of recent origin.

For example, in January of 1859, a French philosopher by the name of Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr,  famously said: "the more things change, the more they stay the same."

Part of the reason for chronic cultural habit is a cultural trance or daze that is, to put it in the vernacular, social ideas perpetuated in a rut.

The notion of "the glory days" has been one of the shovels that digs those ruts, so that a society does the same thing over and over expecting a different result each time.

That is what Einstein said is insanity.

So, let's take a look into where the insanity rut comes from:
What doesn't go unnoticed is the fact that some of the character traits exhibited by serial killers or criminals may be observed in many within the political arena. While not exhibiting physical violence, many political leaders display varying degrees of anger, feigned outrage and other behaviors.

They also lack what most consider a "shame" mechanism. Quite simply, most serial killers and many professional politicians must mimic what they believe are appropriate responses to situations they face such as sadness, empathy, sympathy, and other human responses to outside stimuli.
,,,
Psychopathy is a personality disorder manifested in people who use a mixture of charm, manipulation, intimidation, and occasionally violence to control others, in order to satisfy their own selfish needs.

Although the concept of psychopathy has been known for centuries, the FBI leads the world in the research effort to develop a series of assessment tools, to evaluate the personality traits and behaviors attributable to psychopaths.

Interpersonal traits include glibness, superficial charm, a grandiose sense of self-worth, pathological lying, and the manipulation of others. The affective traits include a lack of remorse and/or guilt, shallow affect, a lack of empathy, and failure to accept responsibility.

The lifestyle behaviors include stimulation-seeking behavior, impulsivity, irresponsibility, parasitic orientation, and a lack of realistic life goals.
(Serial Killers & Politicians Share Traits; see also here). In a Wartocracy, such as the U.S. government, the "stimulation-seeking behavior" is warmongering (e.g. "action movies" about glorifying war) and the "parasitic orientation" is aiding and abetting the "greatest" parasite (Oil-Qaeda: The Deadliest Parasite Of Civilization).

Regular readers know that Dredd Blog has looked at this dynamic of talking the public into a war they never want to get into:
The enemy aggressor is always pursuing a course of larceny, murder, rapine and barbarism. We are always moving forward with high mission, a destiny imposed by the Deity to regenerate our victims, while incidentally capturing their markets; to civilise savage and senile and paranoid peoples, while blundering accidentally into their oil wells.
(On The Origin of The Bully Religion - 2, quoting a book from 1944 - 69 years ago). On the news today (Monday, 4/29/13) I watched this same mantra or chant coming from perverse warmongering blood lust, as the propaganda media beats once again the drums of war on behalf of Oil-Qaeda and MOMCOM.

Don't get me wrong, there is a healthy way to remember things:
reminisce (to recall past experiences, events)

reminiscence (the act or process of recalling past experiences, events)

anamnesis (the recollection or remembrance of the past; reminiscence)
The problem with doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting a different result, comes from a dark pathological psychology.

It is basically knowing the wrong thing is being done while expecting a good result from that bad psychotic behavior.

Some of our music reflects this Groundhog day senseless repetition.

For instance, compare the issues mentioned in the lyrics from a 1971 song to today's social issues:
Everywhere is freaks and hairies
Dykes and fairies, tell me where is sanity
Tax the rich, feed the poor
Till there are no rich no more
...
Population keeps on breeding
Nation bleeding, still more feeding economy
Life is funny, skies are sunny
Bees make honey, who needs money, monopoly
...
World pollution, there's no solution
Institution, electrocution
Just black and white, rich or poor
Them and us, stop the war
...
I'd love to change the world
But I don't know what to do
So I'll leave it up to you

(I'd Love To Change The World, by Ten Years After, lyrics: Alvin Lee, 1971). Those were the issues 42 years ago ... years before personal computers, before cell phones, before the Internet.

Remember the 1859 quote at the beginning of this post: "the more things change [e.g. technology], the more they stay the same [social problems]", because there is some truth to it.

The reason for the trance and daze is the official institutionalization of propaganda (Myth Addiction Is Establishment's LSD - 3).

The previous post in this series is here.

Ten Years After:
