Why Does MOMCOM Hate America?

One of the least remembered facts about the government, when discussing "government this" and "government that", is that the military is also government in the United States.

There is a specific cabinet position which we now call The Secretary of Defense, which heads the department for government military operations.

If it were named according to what it does, that cabinet position would be The Secretary of The Military.

But to help "sell the toothpaste", the name was changed from The Department of War, to something else.

'Twas the warrior general, who later became president, who made the jaw dropping statement:
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone.

It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the clouds of war, it is humanity hanging on a cross of iron.
(The States of War Budgets). How has MOMCOM convinced the public to believe it is providing them with everything, including their freedom, when in fact it is crucifying them on an iron cross?

Speaking of the press, if the "M" in MOMCOM that represents the main stream media were to do some journalistic investigation, the public would be reminded that it is an excruciating crucifixion indeed.

As we speak, some 1,500,000 children are homeless in these United States, as well as millions more adults.

Millions more have lost their homes but live in apartments now, with friends, or with family.

Millions more have lost jobs, savings, and health care.

Millions more beyond that are no longer fully employed.

And on and on it goes.

But war spending has been going up and up, and the Obama Administration and the party called the Democrats in the lead in congress, have just passed the largest war budget.

Need I mention the bankers who have been bailed out to the tune of trillions of dollars for handling MOMCOM money?
The one MOMCOM minions say they are worshipping, when they put bible verses on the sights of their weapons, said "what you did not do for the least of these you did not do for me" would also say MOMCOM "why hast thou forsaken me?"

Today the ideological slaves of MOMCOM will be voting against the health care reform legislation for what they claim are various "reasons".

They will say it will make "government" bigger; it will be a government takeover of health care.

Remember that when they use the word "government" they know most people forget that word includes the military, and remember they know that most people think "government" means only civilians.

The neoCon MOMCOM minions know that this health care reform struggle is between MOMCOM wars vs the common welfare.

It involves doing the things necessary to begin to avoid crucifying those Americans who are not part of MOMCOM by spending a smaller portion of our money for war making.

MOMCOM wants more sacrifice from those Americans, which means she-it is against decreasing any of the obscene military spending, or getting rid of tax favors for oil barons and rich banksters.

Is There a National Dementia?

Some of the more popular blogs in the U.S., which are main stream in thinking, if there is any such thing any more, are wondering about mental aberrations which they think they have detected, and which are showing up massively in the common public discourse or debate we hear or read all around us.

Daily Kos, for example, has a post Sunday Talk - It's Not the Heat, It's the Stupidity, followed by Idiot Nation, Idiot Press, then It's "f-king stupid"?, and finally So you wanna talk about Hitler, from which the photo comes.

The last one mentioned is a good place to focus, I think, because it shows a domestic scene with growing children, a new baby, a stroll in the country, but also the clothing of madness depicted in the NAZI S.S. uniform one of the participants is wearing.

To me it captures a national schizophrenia or similar dementia, where the normal peaceful way of life is slowly being infected, probably undetected at that time, with a social disease.

During the process at first social disease seems normal, then denial sets in, then anger, then catastrophe, then depression, and finally either revolutionary remedy or final demise.

The conundrum is that there is no treatment for national dementia, and as our national health debate shows, there is a number in the many millions and growing daily, of people who could not get treatment because they do not have health insurance anyway.

There are also indications that the treatment may not be effective to the degree that it is not associated with a physical malady of some sort.

The type of treatment with psychotropic drugs that shows dramatic results is usually associated with some brain chemistry that is out of balance, but which can be offset with prescription drugs.

But who is the nation's shrink who does the diagnosis and then dispenses the cure?

And that is the dilemma, not only in the current word storm damaged landscape, but in American social beliefs in general: one man's sanity is another man's dementia.

The diagnosis "you are a sick S.O.B. for thinking that way" is rewarded with "no, you are the sick one".

I suppose if we treat each other well all will heal, it is just that there is no agreement on what the sickness is or what is the cure is.

On Dredd Blog we have postulated a scenario where a person freezing to death and the associated dementia that goes along with it could be compared to an empire going down by suffering cognitive impairment.

Finally, we think that the healthy approach to life is Ecocosmology, where everyone pulls together to save the human species, and all forms of life are respected as carriers of the cure in some way.

Terrorism We Can Believe In?

What would you think and feel if you were told that an organized group within the United States killed 424,000 Americans each year, and maimed millions more?

Is it al Queda, Inc. or Taliban LLC, or Right Wing Hate, Corp. we are talking about here?

The real haters of America would jump and shout for "joy" to be able to kill 424,000 of their enemy would they not?

A Dredd Blog article several months ago reported this shocking detail:
The article points out that deaths due to "iatrogenic causes" during hospital care results in 225,000 deaths per year in the United States.

The outpatient care which follows that hospitalization results in an additional 199,000 deaths due to those "iatrogenic causes".

The not so grand total is 424,000 deaths per year that were due to negligence, accidents, or incompetence.

An "iatrogenic cause" is defined as:
i·at·ro·gen·ic: Induced in a patient by a physician's activity, manner, or therapy. Used especially of an infection or other complication of treatment.
(Dictionary). What this boils down to is that, in the health care system discussed, the treatment is sometimes worse than the disease.
(Dredd on JAMA, cf. Med. Detective). In plain english, iatrogenic means "doctors bury their mistakes" which number into the hundreds of thousands, while we spend trillions of dollars chasing people who only kill a tiny number by comparison.

US vs. World (Healthcare)

I have a copy of a JAMA article entitled "Is Us Health Really The Best In The World?", which was placed at JAMA, Volume 284, No. 4, July 16, 2000.

The article points out that deaths due to "iatrogenic causes" during hospital care results in 225,000 deaths per year in the United States. That article is from the year 2000, you can read Medical Detective for more recent figures.

The "outpatient care" which follows that hospitalization results in an additional 199,000 deaths due to those "iatrogenic causes".

The not so grand total is 424,000 deaths per year that were due to negligence, accidents, or incompetence.
