I. More Important Than
Today's appendices detail sea level change in coastal areas of US States as recorded by these folks.
Today's appendices contain tide gauge station data and sea level change data in both HTML tables and in graphs.
The tide gauge Station Number information is listed here, the meaning of RLR is detailed here.
Since the pseudoscience of "the Warming Commentariat" is all aflutter about "El Nino" (the child from Peru who bugged anchovie fishermen in the 1500's - see Fig. 1 and The Warming Science Commentariat, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15).
II. Los números son más importantes...
In oceanography science the world according to measurements is more important than cartoon characters (The World According To Measurements, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28).
Updates to oceanography standards keep oceanographers more informed, which is why EOS 80 was updated to TEOS-10 for example:
"TEOS-10 (Thermodynamic Equation of Seawater - 2010) is
the international standard for the use and calculation of the
thermodynamic properties of seawater, humid air and ice. It supersedes
the former standard EOS-80 (Equation of State of Seawater 1980). TEOS-10 is used by oceanographers and climate scientists to calculate and model properties of the oceans such as heat content in an internationally comparable way."

III. ...Than Old Myths About Weather
That is why Dredd Blog did the series "The El Nino/La Nina Chronicles" to point out that local, regional weather phenomena are not the way to report on or teach global warming to up and coming citizens of the world.
Some of the words used in the "Warming Commentariat" to describe some ecological damage being done to the north-eastern coastline during the past few days are "high tide", "king tide", nor'easter, and the like.
Do they think that high tides just came on the market as a reason for explaining the damage?
If high and low tides are caused by the Moon's gravity, are they insinuating that the Moon is moving closer to the Earth and is a cause for the increasing movement of high tide lines inland from where they once were?
Roads being flooded with salt water more and more, houses falling into the sea as that happens, is caused by the Moon getting closer and causing increasing high tides? No. "High-tide flooding is now 300% to more than 900% more frequent than it was 50 years ago" (Moonshine is not the cause).
Does no mention of sea level rise indicate that "someone" wants us to believe that the sea level is not rising in order to deceive us? Check it out:

IV. The Appendices
The appendices to today's post (One.html, One.Graphs, Two.html, Two.Graphs, Three.html, Three.Graphs, Four.html, Four.Graphs, Five.html, Five.Graphs) contain html tables and graphs about sea levels.
Over the years in 22 states (Alabama, Alaska, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Washington, which have coastlines and tide gauge stations) keep track of sea level changes in real time.
Vote for members of the House and Senate that are not global warming deniers.
