The El Nino/La Nina Chronicles - 14

Where Da El Nino At?

I. EL Heat Wave

This series has shown that renaming 'global warming' to the name 'climate change' was a political maneuver, (a la "El Nino"):

"Frank Ian Luntz ... is an American political and communications consultant and pollster. His work has included developing talking points and other messaging for Republican causes ... He ... has advocated use of vocabulary crafted to produce a desired effect, including use of the term ... climate change instead of global warming.

(Wikipedia, emphasis added). The fabled El Nino was with Santa I suppose (Fig. 1).

II. Heat Storm - Telling It Like It Is

An ongoing study isolates multiple events of this nature, such as 'heat wave':

"Reuters conducted a data-driven examination of global temperatures that shows heat waves have surged in size and frequency since the 1960s. These are the key takeaways ...

Where Da El Nino At?
To continue calling such sprawling phenomena 'heat waves' would be like calling a monsoon a rain shower. To understand the new reality of these immense expanses of heat, Reuters consulted with two dozen climate researchers and analyzed temperatures around the globe for every hour of every day since 1960 [and 2020s]. From those results, we developed a new concept: the 'heat storm'."

(Meet the heat storm: 7 takeaways from our investigation, cf. Giant Heat Storms). Again, the fabled El Nino was with Santa I suppose (Fig. 2).

III. Closing Comments

It is way past time, if not too late, to heal the mental problem that has been injected into way too many people of Earth.

  2. "To say something moves at a glacial pace is to imply sluggish, unhurried change. But what transpired over the course of 15 months at Antarctica’s Hektoria Glacier was uncharacteristically quick. Between January 2022 and March 2023, the glacier lost about 25 kilometers (15 miles) in length. That included a two-month period in which the terminus retreated more than 8 kilometers (5 miles)—the highest rate of grounded glacial ice loss observed in modern history." (Link)
