Will Elections Cure The Disease? - 7

I. Background

The United States faces the question that has been raised in this Dredd Blog series for over a decade (Will Elections Cure The Disease?, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

"What disease?" is a reasonable response.

This series has pointed out that the issue is bifurcated into two schools of thought.

The one school of thought holds that "disease" is only a physical concept and application, and the other school of thought thinks that "disease" includes mental disease (thought disease) when the question is applied to large groups (e.g. civilizations).

In earlier times the better government officials and historians were of the opinion that a "germ" could be a cognitive entity, i.e. a diseased thought.

Not only that, the said cognitive germ could spread like a physical germ does:

They spoke the answer with unmistakable words and with certain clarity:

Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these

proceed debts and taxes; and armies, and debts, and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. In war, too, the discretionary power of the Executive is extended; its influence in dealing out offices, honors, and emoluments is multiplied: and all the means of seducing the minds, are added to those of subduing the force, of the people. The same malignant aspect in republicanism may be traced in the inequality of fortunes, and the opportunities of fraud, growing out of a state of war, and in the degeneracy of manners and of morals, engendered by both. No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare. Those truths are well established.
(James Madison, emphasis added). The visionary who made that statement was the 4th President of the United States, Bill of Rights author, Congressman, Cabinet Member, and who was also called the "Father of the U.S. Constitution".

It's a mental realm type of discussion.

A historian who was at one time the most often quoted historian, alluded to this type of sickness:

"In other words, a society does not ever die 'from natural causes', but always dies from suicide or murder --- and nearly always from the former, as this chapter has shown."

(A Study of History, by Arnold J. Toynbee). Mass psychosis is involved when a large group either kills itself, or kills another group.

"In the Study Toynbee examined the rise and fall of 26 civilizations in the course of human history, and he concluded that they rose by responding successfully to challenges under the leadership of creative minorities composed of elite leaders. Civilizations declined when their leaders stopped responding creatively, and the civilizations then sank owing to the sins of nationalism, militarism, and the tyranny of a despotic minority ."

(Encyclopedia Britannica, emphasis added). A "germ" is spread when cognition devolves into the despotic savagery of war between opposing nations or civilizations, but sometimes it is an internal "germ" that spreads only within a single nation or civilization.

II. What If The Germ Is Both Mental And Physical?

In a recent post we considered "Toxoplasma gondii" in the context of a "germ" that is physical, but it also impacts cognition in a dramatic way (On The Origin Of The Home Of COVID-19 - 34).

In today's two appendices I show the current results (more on the way) of taking a look at that germ, which is a eucaryotic single-celled microbe that is, at the atomic level, much like our natural human eucaryotic cells (Toxo Appendix One, Homo Appendix Two).

The "fingerprint" ("atomic pattern") of each chromosome of the DNA of the two is incredibly similar.

The atoms are the fundamental building blocks of both "Toxosapiens" (Fig. 1) and "Homosapiens" (Fig. 2), which exhibit a similar atomic pattern within the genome of the chromosomes of both Toxo and Homo.

I will continue the search for the signs of coronaviridae viruses within those two genomes.

Upcoming posts will detail the results of that search.

III. Closing comments

Since it is well known that microbes are hosts of various viruses, that mutualistic relationships exist between the host microbe and the symbiont virus, and further,  considering that Toxo is very prevalent in the human population, the following applies:

"Viruses must establish an intimate relationship with their hosts and vectors in order to infect, replicate, and disseminate; hence, viruses can be considered as symbionts with their hosts. Symbiotic relationships encompass different lifestyles, including antagonistic (or pathogenic, the most well-studied lifestyle for viruses), commensal (probably the most common lifestyle), and mutualistic (important beneficial partners). Symbiotic relationships can shape the evolution of the partners in a holobiont, and placing viruses in this context provides an important framework for understanding virus-host relationships and virus ecology. Although antagonistic relationships are thought to lead to coevolution, this is not always clear in virus-host interactions, and impacts on evolution may be complex. Commensalism implies a hitchhiking role for viruses—selfish elements just along for the ride. Mutualistic relationships have been described in detail in the past decade, and they reveal how important viruses are in considering host ecology. Ultimately, symbiosis can lead to symbiogenesis, or speciation through fusion, and the presence of large amounts of viral sequence in the genomes of everything from bacteria to humans, including some important functional genes, illustrates the significance of viral symbiogenesis in the evolution of all life on Earth."

I will try to detect evidence that as Toxo is anti-biologically destroyed (antibiotics), along with other helpful microbes within us, the virus population of Toxo hosts and/or viruses may be damaged to the point of becoming pathogenic (If Cosmology Is "Off," How Can Biology Be "On?" - 2).

After all, scientists consider our era to be the the Sixth Mass Extinction event ... which means that we are driving ourselves crazy (and perhaps a damaged Toxo is lending a helping hand).

Bottom Line: The only way elections can change that is to put sane people in government positions and thereafter support them.
