All Eyes On Deck

In terms of grounding lines (where ice on land leaves the land and begins to float on the ocean), the ice melting above the waterline gets the most press (Fig. 1).

In that realm, the realm of physical eyesight, "if it bleeds it leads".

But, the amount of ice melting above the waterline is dwarfed by amount of ice melting below the waterline (but cameras are practically forbidden there).

Especially ice melting down in the Mesopelagic depth level, way below the waterline, down in "ho-hum land".

So, today I am providing some graphs of what is happening down under us in three pelagic depths as all eyes are on deck.
