Global Wierding: Mirror Of Mental Wierding

There is only one book that is more mysterious than "Known Unknowns", written by Known K. Knowns (a.k.a. "KKK"), Rummy's Stepfather in Chief, once called The Ancient of Daze.

That book is the accounting book detailing where the money went for "the greatest infrastructure bill in United States History", passed less than a Senate ago.

Even Rummy's Uncle Dick could not fathom it, so when Dredd Blog asked askance about the mystery, only crickets could be heard in reply.

Both of these books seem to be books not yet deciphered by the world's decoding experts, or perhaps it is simply that "the books" were Texas Textbooks seasonally doomed to the lotto recycle bin.

I ask because today on Morning Java they were all talking about our degenerating infrastructure, which appears to be a codeword for "earmarks".

Especially since "global wierding" (a.k.a., by the wayback hominids, "the greatest hoax ever fostered on the American Public") is having its way with our infrastructure, and not only that, it is having its way with the infrastructure of many nations:
Insurers will take note, as will those developing policies for adapting to climate change. "This has immense importance not just as a further justification for emissions reduction, but also for adaptation planning," says Michael Oppenheimer, a climate-policy researcher at Princeton University in New Jersey, who was not involved in the studies.

There is no doubt that humans are altering the climate, but the implications for regional weather are less clear. No computer simulation can conclusively attribute a given snowstorm or flood to global warming. But with a combination of climate models, weather observations and a good dose of probability theory, scientists may be able to determine how climate warming changes the odds. An earlier study, for example, found that global warming has at least doubled the likelihood of extreme events such as the 2003 European heatwave.
(The Journal Nature). Regular readers of Dredd Blog know that we have always understood that mental wierding must precede global wierding, not the other way around.

In a sense global wierding feeds on mental wierding (Dredd Blog calls it the "egoecocycle"), and vice versa, so the bleep goes on doncha know.

Thus, we can conclude that we have passed both the peak of good weather, and the peak of sanity.

They are talking about helping the situation by building a speed train in the W direction which begins and ends in Bubble On The Great.
Huffington Post has an interesting post about infrastructure spending ... spent on the infrastructure of foreign nations rather than the USA.

  1. Looks like we're catching up to the rest of the world in one respect at least: protests over government austerity measures.

Thousands protest cuts in Wisconsin budget

MADISON, Wis. — As four game wardens awkwardly stood guard, protesters, scores deep, crushed into a corridor leading to the governor’s office here Wednesday to protest some of the most far-reaching budget cutback proposals in the nation. Screams of “Come out, come out, wherever you are!” echoed throughout the Capitol building.

The noise level in the Rotunda rose to the level of a chain saw, and many Madison teachers joined the protest by calling in sick in such numbers that the district had to cancel classes.

Behind closed doors, Scott Walker, the Republican who has been Wisconsin’s governor for about six weeks, calmly described his intent to forge ahead with plans to cut public workers’ benefits and sharply curtail collective bargaining rights. Yes, some angry workers had surrounded his state car Tuesday and started pounding on it. Yes, others had surrounded his home in Wauwatosa.

Bailouts for bankers, austerity for the people. Hmm... Seems like this has happened once or twice before in the past. Can't remember it ever turning out well for rich or poor alike. MOMCOM better be polishing her game, cause I don't think she's got the numbers to handle the civil unrest that's coming when the better part of 300M people wake up and discover they're broke and destitute with nothing at all to lose.

  2. disaffected,

    "government austerity measures"

A coded phrase meaning the people don't like all the money being spent on infrastructure in countries like Afghanistan and Iraq.

The spending is quite liberal toward foreign governments, but quite austere, as you point out, when it comes to the American people.

This is traitorous so why wouldn't the good citizenry of the U.S.A. be outraged at MOMCOM's treachery?

  3. Randy,

Most of MOMCOM's die-hard supporters have not yet woken up to the fact that they are part of the "them" being spoken about behind closed doors when referring to the various "welfare cheats, "government leeches," or whatever other pejorative terms are being bandied about at the moment. Make no mistake, the complete consolidation of wealth is almost here now, and there's going to be a lot more of us on the outside looking in than vice versa.

Question is, will the rich's divide and conquer strategy continue to work as well as it has thus far, or will the masses finally realize they've been had and do something about it before it's too late? I'd say that's an even money proposition right now, but I think we'll have our answer somewhere around the 2012 election time frame, when the commitment to a hell-bent forleather Republican agenda will either be embraced or rejected outright.

And as vitriolic as it is right now already, and can't even imagine the conservative right accepting defeat peaceably (while the actual liberal left seems much more resigned to their fate as permanent cultural whipping-boys and doormats). I think the last remaining seams are going to rip, and the ugly entrails of the American underclass are going to spill out for all to see. Should be quite a show!

  4. Who needs heat or Food Stamps, anywhy? Didn't the ancients put grandma out in the snow, before all the books were writen? No doubt the climate has changed since then, and back again. Boats without leaks rise with the tide.

As for SS, some cannot tell it apart from medicaid or medicare.

"Progressive" gov in MA gonna limit medical costs by filing a bill today that will limit how much a doctor can spend on each patient. I call that dx by the book, not by the individuals symptoms.

As for the HSR, Pensylvania wants it, and is ready for it, and has been denied, so, who cares? V.

Put a newly designed jet engine in it, park a navel fleet in it and call for restraint. Looks like I nailed it on the Egyption coup. Try not to suffer from indigestion.

  5. Next comes the "oops we miscalculated" by 50 years ...

    "180 U.S. Atlantis Candidates" ...

You guess which direction (W or reality) they were off ...

  6. Oh but technology will save us don't you know? By then we'll have levitating and/or underwater cities, as science solves both gravity and creates mutant humans who can breath water, eat sewage, and live forever.

Atmospheric venting technologies will be developed to mitigate both global warming and pollution build up, which will allow us to burn as much fossil fuel - which we'll learn how to synthesize for almost free - as we desire for ever and ever, amen.

Global Capitalism will be recognized as a sacred gift given directly from the creator and will be worshiped as such, and trickle down economics will have trickled down to all, leaving everyone in the world a billionaire in its wake. Sex will be the world's only occupation, as people copulate like rabbits 24 hours a day - having eliminated the need for sleep altogether - all with no fear of pregnancy or STDs.

New humans will be designer created on home PCs using the latest software, and brought into existence at any age, completely eliminating the infant stage altogether if desired.

MOMCOM will develop telepathy to where she can read the minds of all her adversaries - even though there will be no adversaries - and launch preemptive strikes before they can even think to attack us, and the US empire will encompass the entire globe and be universally recognized as the greatest force for freedom and goodness that the world has ever known.

    Or not.

  7. disaffected,

Right on. "Or not" is real, the other is denial run amok in the propaganda smoke house.
