Secular Secrecy Cults In Government - 2

The president's secret trip to Afghanistan, kept secret until he got there, is one example of a valid state secret.

It is one example among many bad examples of bad state secrets.

One bad secret which the government wants to keep from people is the disastrous age which government, through environmental ignorance, has brought upon the planet earth and humanity.

Politicians in governments want to ignore the disastrous age, while serious scientists want to call it The Anthropocene Epoch:
The scientists propose that, in just two centuries, humans have wrought such vast and unprecedented changes to our world that we actually might be ushering in a new geological time interval, and alter the planet for millions of years.

Zalasiewicz, Williams, Steffen and Crutzen contend that recent human activity, including stunning population growth, sprawling megacities and increased use of fossil fuels, have changed the planet to such an extent that we are entering what they call the Anthropocene (New Man) Epoch.
(The Criminally Insane Epoc Arises). Critics of global warming in the republican party, such as Senator Inhofe, do not want the term "anthropo" used as any part of any description of global warming or global climate change, because that word connotes human involvement in environmental wrongs.

They seem to have a concept in mind that equates government with the infallibility of the Pope, in the sense that humanity can do no wrong to the environment "because God made the environment for us to use as we like".

In the movie "2012" the governments had a state secret program going, kept secret from the people, which constructed arks to save the government but not the people.

  1. Well you're also talking about a bunch of apocalyptic numb nuts who believe that the rapture is nigh, so how much less do you think they give a shit about the environment, which magic Jesus could fix with a wave of his mythic hand, should he deem necessary. I agree with the shit heads that we're headed for an apocalypse, although its not one that will be thrust upon us by some nefarious force of evil such as satan. The movie '2012' might have the time frame right after all, although the events will likely take most by surprise.

  2. disaffected,

So, are you saying a vote for the GOP will bring Jesus back faster than a vote for the dems will? ;)

  3. In a manner of speaking, yes. We've been marching toward a showdown over hard right policies since 1980 (at least) now. Like a bad virus, we're not going to get it out of our system until we really see where such policies take us. GOP lite is just the slow road to hell. I think in 2012 (and to some extent this year at the mid-terms) we're going to get down to the real business of bringing down the empire. Obama was probably our last chance to begin to turn things around, and he was obviously an entirely false hope. Like Gorbachev to Yeltsin to Putin, we're about to take a radical swing right in the face of uncertainty and decline.

  5. Hey gang,

Bush II, High Priest In Chief, was all over this.

He and his have been trying to bring Jesus home ever since the family began to support Hitler and were punished by the U.S. Government for so doing.

At least according to Fox News ...

  6. RE, your last 3 paragraphs: Actually Dredd, I think you give Inhofe and the numb-nut right too much credit once again. I don't think the stupid bastards give it NEARLY that much thought. The concept of "global warming" comes down to "reduced profits if yes - BAD!" vs. "continued profits (even if reduced) if no - GOOD!" Hence, Global Warming = bad = must be denied at all costs.

Think reptilian and you'll get the hang of it soon enough. That's no surprise, since reptiles might be the inheritors of our legacy should we keep it up.

As the immortal GWB paraphrased from the infamous JMK, "In the long run, we'll all be dead." A phrase only a true existential economist could ever mutter. Too bad the former was neither and the latter wasn't the former (nor, arguably, the latter).
