    Kepler blasted off into space looking for new human habitations ... since the Sun will eventually destroy this planet.

  5. The reason the David Ho painting is so interesting is that humanity, especially the US during Bush II, was like The Borg.

    And current statistics are grim for avoiding disaster:

    "The world's best efforts at combating climate change are likely to offer no more than a 50-50 chance of keeping temperature rises below the threshold of disaster, according to research from the UK Met Office." (Independent).
