A Tale of Coup Cities

Not entirely unlike A Tale of Two Cities the American people have been asked, in polls for a decade now, whether the country is going in the correct direction or not.

They have said consistently that the country has been going in the wrong direction.

Government keeps going in the policy direction which the people certainly do not approve of (that direction we call the "W" direction).

Logical deduction: the people are not the government.

The American people have been asked in polls, for a decade now, whether the country should be in all of these wars or not.

The people have said the wars are improper and unwanted.

Government keeps going in the war direction which the people do not approve of.

Logical deduction: the people are not the government.

The founding Americans believed that war was a toxic disease, the current powers that be teach in the war colleges that war is an art.

So who is the government?

Logical deduction: those who want war, not peace.

We have stated that a "gentle coup" has taken place whereby MOMCOM is the actual government, that the politicians are mere actors carrying out the onion script, all in the name of the art of Sun Tzu.

That too is a logical deduction.

Bush II Eradicated The Robber Barons - 3

In the first and second posts in this series we pointed out some of what many will want to call the "Christian - like Parameters" for the beginning of The Age of Plunder within the USA.

In the recent post Is War An Art or Is War A Disease we pointed out that the military has won the war against the USA, by using the tactics of a Chinese General written down in his "Bible of war".

That book has been spread throughout the Military War Colleges in the USA and around "the world according to MOMCOM" (click on the graphic above for a larger view of that world).

That Chinese General always said that the better practice, when taking over a nation, is to do so without doing military damage to it.

The better tactic, according to those Chinese war philosophies, is to instead use deceit and propaganda to "win the hearts and minds" of the enemy nation.

The Chinese philosophy that war is an art composed primarily of deceit and propaganda is the thesis upon which The War Colleges of MOMCOM teach their students (a.k.a. "heroes" or "warriors").

We have pointed out previously that the western military religion is really Mithraism, and we pointed out their "Far Eastern Bible" in Is War an Art or Is War a Disease, linked to above.

Since world-grade fine art is quite expensive, and the graphic above shows the worldwide scope of MOMCOM's art of war, it is not much of an exercise to realize that vast sums of money had to be piped to MOMCOM's many "sub-COMs" around the world.

And that piping of money had to be unfettered by any quaint Constitutional or Statutory constraints.

We refer you to this post and this post on Washington's Blog for some of the detail about how the money is shipped there, and simply ask that, while reading those posts, you remember that the relevant banks the treasury money is going to are international banks, both in scope and in ideology.

So, when funds are loaned to them by the USA fed at 0% here, which they then loan back to the government at 3%, that generates "money" which is then available for all of their foreign outlets in foreign nations too.

Can anyone say "theft by deception", plunder, or "money laundering?"

Lifting The Government Surplus Ceiling

In our wartocracy, "government surplus" is old Army garbage.

What if government surplus meant that the government was spending less than it was taking in?

Could the politicians handle it?

It would mean that addiction to oil had ended rendering the oil wars obsolete.

It would mean that the middle class was strong.

And it would mean that the economy would be more stable.

Just sayin' ...

It was the Bush II regime that lowered the government budget surplus ceiling that the Bill Clinton Administration had raised.

In fact, Bush II lowered it so low they had to dig a deeper hole for the new basement to hold all the war debt.

We now seem to habitually follow The W Direction (War) into more debt.

Is War An Art or Is War A Disease?

The founders of The United States of America, especially the one who wrote The Bill of Rights, and is called "the father of the Constitution", declared that war is a disease.

Not only had he been in on the very beginning of the nation, on getting it off to a good start, later he was in the Cabinet of a president, as Secretary of State.

As if that was not enough, later he was elected by his constituents to be in the congress for a while.

Then, to top it all off the people even elected him to be President of the United States of America!

Collecting his thoughts after that experience, yes, collecting his thoughts about the most wonderful essence any nation can have, public liberty, he declared:
Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes; and armies, and debts, and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. In war, too, the discretionary power of the Executive is extended; its influence in dealing out offices, honors, and emoluments is multiplied : and all the means of seducing the minds, are added to those of subduing the force, of the people. The same malignant aspect in republicanism may be traced in the inequality of fortunes, and the opportunities of fraud, growing out of a state of war, and in the degeneracy of manners and of morals, engendered by both. No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare. Those truths are well established.
(The Greatest Source of Power Toxins?, emphasis added). To the first Americans, war is the greatest enemy of public liberty, because it is the carrier of the germs of every other sick enemy of public liberty.

If that saying of James Madison is a true saying, since we have had open warfare for the past decade, would that be enough time to test the Madison hypothesis a bit?

Lets get right to the gist of it by analyzing some recent comments by those who spend their entire lives in war or in the preparation for war:
The notion of using martial law (a technique abandoned just before WWI replacing it with the propaganda technique) to keep the people in their place, has been openly contemplated by the military:
A new report by the U.S. Army War College talks about the possibility of Pentagon resources and troops being used should the economic crisis lead to civil unrest, such as protests against businesses and government or runs on beleaguered banks.

“Widespread civil violence inside the United States would force the defense establishment to reorient priorities in extremis to defend basic domestic order and human security,” said the War College report.

The study says economic collapse, terrorism and loss of legal order are among possible domestic shocks that might require military action within the U.S.
(Phoenix Biz Journal). The plans are in place, they are simply waiting for the people to get fed up so they can fed up.
(The Government of The Government, emphasis added). The plans are in place and will be used if what they consider to be too many people complaining (about the economic state of affairs, in a manner they do not like) should take place?

That sounds sick to me.

The U.S. Army War College no longer teaches that war is the worst disease, it now teaches that "war is an art", yes, they see themselves as masters of war, masters of fine art.

And these war colleges cost big bucks, weapons cost big bucks, wars cost big bucks, preparing for war costs big bucks, so like a Monet or a Van Gogh, art costs big bucks.

And if there isn't enough to go around after all the art of war is funded, if you complain about it The U.S. Amy War College will send an art brigade your way so you can learn to appreciate their art, or else.

Ok, one more, then lets go back outside and play pretend everything is hunky dory in the Absolute USA:
Pentagonia, capitol of Bullshitistan, well aware of the current political climate, has declared who its greatest enemy is, believing it is health care:
The U.S. military keeps searching the horizon for a peer competitor, the challenger that must be taken seriously. Is it China? What about an oil rich and resurgent Russia?

But the threat that is most likely to hobble U.S. military capabilities is not a peer competitor, rather it is health care.
(The Enemy the Pentagon Should Fear Most: Health Care, National Defense Magazine). We have been pointing out this very strange ideology for a while now, using "MOMCOM" symbolism to isolate the militant energy fighting against the middle class and poor in the United States.
(Deja Vu - Guns v. Butter Election Looms, emphasis added). You might be wondering how this "war is art" meme began.

It began with the teachings of a Chinese general who wrote a book "The Art of War" which eventually found its way into the libraries of The U.S. Army War Colleges.

It then infected the minds of the students of war, the "artists" who do war, who once upon a time would have been doctors learning how to prevent the disease of war.

Now, instead they get a degree in the Chinese philosophy, not the original American philosophy:
Sun Tzu said: In the practical art of war, the best thing of all is to take the enemy's country whole and intact; to shatter and destroy it is not so good. So, too, it is better to recapture an army entire than to destroy it, to capture a regiment, a detachment or a company entire than to destroy them.

Hence to fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting.

...

3. The art of war, then, is governed by five constant factors, to be taken into account in one's deliberations, when seeking to determine the conditions obtaining in the field.

4. These are: (1) The Moral Law; (2) Heaven; (3) Earth; (4) The Commander; (5) Method and discipline.

5,6. The Moral Law causes the people to be in complete accord with their ruler, so that they will follow him regardless of their lives, undismayed by any danger.

7. Heaven signifies night and day, cold and heat, times and seasons.

8. Earth comprises distances, great and small; danger and security; open ground and narrow passes; the chances of life and death.

9. The Commander stands for the virtues of wisdom, sincerely, benevolence, courage and strictness.

10. By method and discipline are to be understood the marshaling of the army in its proper subdivisions, the graduations of rank among the officers, the maintenance of roads by which supplies may reach the army, and the control of military expenditure.

11. These five heads should be familiar to every general: he who knows them will be victorious; he who knows them not will fail.
(The Art of War, see also this, this, and this). So, since your health is their enemy then you are their enemy, and since art is expensive, if you complain in the streets about not having a home, job, or food, they will capture your country whole and intact, because that is considered to be supreme excellence in their "art of war".

Remember their "art" dictates:
"The Moral Law causes the people to be in complete accord with their ruler, so that they will follow him regardless of their lives ...

The Commander stands for the virtues of wisdom, sincerely, benevolence, courage and strictness ...

By method and discipline are to be understood the marshaling of the army in its proper subdivisions, the graduations of rank among the officers, the maintenance of roads by which supplies may reach the army, and the control of military expenditure."
(ibid, links added). That the art of war even controls the building of the roads explains a lot about our infrastructure?

Yeah, James Madison, I get your drift.

Absolutism: Pabulum For The Insecure?

Two things are for sure, the first is that the elite citizens of the U.S.eh?, in general, believe everything is fine and dandy, and the second thing that is for sure is that people in the know have an extremely opposite view.

That the notion of the fundamental insecurity of civilization has been institutionalized as a false notion can be felt, to some degree, by the statement of world famous Senator John McCain during the 2008 presidential election (just before the worst recession in U.S.eh? history hit very hard), when he said in response to a journalist's question, "what economic problems?", then topped it off with "the economy is just fine".

His running mate could only add, when asked what she thought of it, "I don't know what that is, I can't see the bank from my house".

Her "drill baby drill" policies were the policies that Barak Obama decried during his presidential campaign, yet has now embraced as his own policies as fully as can be accomplished in a short three years as president.

That is "the American Dream" at the moment, an institutionalized trance, a virtual hypnotic stupor, brought on purposefully by the massive engines of deceit running amok within the meme complexes of current civilization.

In an optimistic appraisal of reality, a scientific paper says that food prices will double by 2030, while perhaps a less optimistic appraisal says two Earths will be required by that time to produce that food.

So, we can expect the most oft used phrase in the current "halls of vision" ("worse than previously thought") to continue to be news headlines repeatedly.

Below are examples which show that current political cognition is inept for dealing with problems that are beyond our habitual political considerations.

The first:
The best example of this would probably be the story of Chang and Eng Bunker, "the Siamese Twins," so called because they were from Siam (now Thailand). Chang and Eng were joined by just a bit of liver and some skin. One April day in 1843, Chang married Adelaide Yates, while brother Eng married sister Sallie Yates. Based on the fact that Chang and Adelaide had 10 children, and Eng and Sallie 12, it's fair to say the brothers had sex.

At the autopsy of the Bunker twins, one of the anatomists opined that their active sex lives "shocked the moral sense of the community" -- even though the truth is that the Bunkers' neighbors appeared to have just accepted the situation. A little known fact is that the Bunker wives' father originally objected to his daughters marrying the twins not because they were conjoined, but because they were Asian. (This was, after all, the antebellum American South.)

Yet in the nineteenth century, when doctors discussed whether the twins Millie and Christina McCoy could marry, one spoke for many: "Physically there are no serious objections ... but morally there was a most decided one." When, in the 1930s, Violet Hilton sought to get a marriage license while conjoined to her sister Daisy, she was repeatedly refused.

The same discomfort generally carries through to our own time.
(Atlantic Monthly). Another example:
Twins joined at the head — the medical term is craniopagus — are one in 2.5 million, of which only a fraction survive. The way the girls’ brains formed beneath the surface of their fused skulls, however, makes them beyond rare: their neural anatomy is unique, at least in the annals of recorded scientific literature. Their brain images reveal what looks like an attenuated line stretching between the two organs, a piece of anatomy their neurosurgeon, Douglas Cochrane of British Columbia Children’s Hospital, has called a thalamic bridge, because he believes it links the thalamus of one girl to the thalamus of her sister. The thalamus is a kind of switchboard, a two-lobed organ that filters most sensory input and has long been thought to be essential in the neural loops that create consciousness. Because the thalamus functions as a relay station, the girls’ doctors believe it is entirely possible that the sensory input that one girl receives could somehow cross that bridge into the brain of the other. One girl drinks, another girl feels it.
(Twins Share a Mind, emphasis added). There are significant portions of the two girls' brains that are common to both of them, just as with the male twins who also have a different organ common to both of them.

The question "would it be appropriate for the two / four to have sex with each other?" would surely jar an absolutist's ability to reason this out.

These examples show not only a new meaning for "united states", but they also show that not all "united states" are the same.

We can go back to the civil war in the U.S.eh? to see that one person's "united" is another person's "bound", and thus ponder our current state of affairs anew.

In New State Ice Co. v. Liebmann, a case in the U.S. Supreme Court during the not-so-great depression, Justice Brandeis in his dissent lamented about the Supreme proclivity to denude the power of the states' ability to experiment:
There must be power in the states and the nation to remould, through experimentation, our economic practices and institutions to meet changing social and economic needs. I cannot believe that the framers of the Fourteenth Amendment, or the states which ratified it, intended to deprive us of the power to correct the evils of technological unemployment and excess productive capacity which have attended progress in the useful arts.

To stay experimentation in things social and economic is a grave responsibility. Denial of the right to experiment may be fraught with serious consequences to the nation. It is one of the happy incidents of the federal system that a single courageous state may, if its citizens choose, serve as a laboratory; and try novel social and economic experiments without risk to the rest of the country.
(285 U.S. 262, 1932). The thoughtful Justice Brandeis said that the states are experimenters, free to find their own truth that could be different than the truth of the other states, and maybe even better.

The militarized groupthink of The Bound States of America is not good for us because we need to be in a state where we might be able to think our way out of various impending calamities, which is unfortunately not the current state we are in.

We are not in Kansas anymore Inhofe.

The Farm is famous in some circles for various solutions, but when it first was developing as an experiment the FBI spied on it for 20 years under J. Edgar Hoover:
Why do police agencies fear, and consequently target for subversion, experimental communities? That fear is abundantly evident in the documents which today are being made public for the first time. It is also evident in the protracted struggle, at great expense, which the government undertook to prevent their release. In this paper, I'll address both of those misguided efforts in some detail.

What may now be observed is that the obsessive and neurotic character of J. Edgar Hoover, and the legacy of institutional paranoia which he bequeathed to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, drove the FBI to harass the founders of The Farm from the very beginning. That The Farm persevered in the face of this harassment and overcame the obstacles the government imposed is a testament to the courage and integrity of the core group of founders, most notably Stephen Gaskin.

What was the basis for Hoover's fear? Well, perhaps it evolved over his half century as America's top cop.
(Bates, Hoover and The Farm). The toxins of power have generated several meme complexes that have become viral.

On The Memorial Daze - 2

Memo about death on yet another remembrance day, another day to forget reality, another day to focus on the pig circus.

Without question, because of our being politically hypnotized, we are well into the Sixth Mass Extinction of life on Earth.

On this subject we actually ponder the cost of not committing ecocide ("how much will it cost to stop killing the Earth and ourselves?"), as if committing ecocide would "save money".

The remaining question, then, is whether the human species will become extinct during this ongoing current mass extinction:
Greenhouse gas emissions increased by a record amount last year, to the highest carbon output in history, putting hopes of holding global warming to safe levels all but out of reach, according to unpublished estimates from the International Energy Agency.
(Guardian, emphasis added). The first post of this series listed a tiny portion of life forms the oil wars have made extinct, so here is today's list for your perusal.

Ponder and memorialize the ultimate cost:
In the four billion years since life on Earth began, there have been five times when there was a sudden mass extinction of life-forms. The last time was 65 million years ago, when the dinosaurs were killed, probably by a meteor. But now the world's scientists agree that the sixth mass extinction is at hand. Humans have accelerated the rate of species extinction by a factor of at least 100, and the great Harvard biologist EO Wilson warns that it could reach a factor of 10,000 within the next 20 years. We are doing this largely by stripping species of their habitats. We are destroying the planet's biodiversity, and so we are making the natural chains that keep us alive much more vulnerable to collapse. This time, we are the meteor.

At the same time, we are dramatically warming the atmosphere. I know it has become terribly passé to listen to virtually all the world's scientists, but I remember the collapsing glaciers I saw in the Arctic, the drying-out I saw in Darfur, and the rising salt water I saw in Bangladesh. 2010 was the joint-hottest year ever recorded, according to Nasa. The best scientific prediction is that we are now on course for a 3ft rise in global sea levels this century. That means goodbye London, Cairo, Bangkok, Venice and Shanghai. Doubt it if you want, but the US National Academy of Sciences – the most distinguished scientific body in the world – just found that 97 per cent of scientific experts agree with the evidence.
(A Turning-point We Miss At Our Peril, emphasis added). We kill ourselves in stupid wars even as we wage a stupid war against the only Earth we have, the only means of survival, then we glorify that madness with holidays.

Memorialize this too.

A Methanol Economy Way Out of Here - 4

The Indy 500 is where the power brokers are today.

In the series A Methanol Economy Way Out of Here, we mentioned in the first post that "methanol was the required fuel for the Indy Racing League (IRL) from the 1960s until 2006".

Methanol is a clean burning fuel which powered the fastest race in the nation, all the while producing no green house gases nor carbon monoxide along the way.

Methanol fuel was used by the big human race for about 46 years in the most powerful and the fastest of the race's cars.

This human race is celebrated today at the Indianapolis 500, but is the celebration about something that is not really happening?

Is the celebration really about hearing "the bridge is out just ahead", then nevertheless pushing the gas pedal to the floorboard, rushing headlong into a self-induced Armageddon, gleefully accelerating toward the "finish line"?

We first posed that question and subject matter in Tidalgate, New Government Climate Change Policy: Triage, and Will This Float Your Boat, after hearing that the Obama administration had reversed itself to order full-on drilling offshore, onshore, and anywhere else, for the dirty oil that is bringing on the demise of civilization.

After that demise, when those who survive get to bury 5-6 billion corpses, or just dig the smell of suckcess for awhile, what will the new civilization look like?

In the posts A Methanol Way Out Of Here, and A Green Way Out of Here, we pointed out that some people get it, and in the post Someone Figured It Out we show that even some governments get it.

Let's hope those who get it are among the survivors, so that the new human race will be methanol based, or something better, so we can watch a race in a better civilization.

The next post in this series is here, the previous post is here.
