Iran Makes Like Stalin

Iran began public trials of citizens who protested the past election.

Stalin, the dictator of Russia a long time ago, once said those who cast the votes decide nothing but those who count the votes decide everything.

That is how the fascist theologians who run the country with dishonesty and an iron fist see things now.

Too bad because the Iranian people expected more and are better than that, and they were courageous to take to the streets.

We won't forget the democratic minded people who are being oppressed by those dictators in Iran.

But war against the dictators is for the people of Iran, not for the United States.

It is their own independence they will engineer, then we can be allies.

This Is Your Brain On Propaganda

It is little known to the main stream media that they are not liberal, that they are not free, that they are in fact scripted.

But little of the script which can be easily seen comes from Big Brother.

Most of the script that can be easily seen comes from the inside soul of those who aspire to be free press journalists and those who just want to make up the news.

There is a sense of pride, of patriotism, of evangelism in the main stream media today, which is driven like the failing disaster called health care, by the profit motive.

So very much like the Ferengi, they labor under the decidedly false notion that everything must have a profit motive to be really pure.

"I made a good profit on Mrs. McNulty's kidneys" is no different than "we really got some good profit from that story the Pentagon gave us the exclusive on".

Any questions?

Crucial Vote on Single Payer Healthcare

This came in an email to Dredd:

One week ago, we eagerly anticipated a crucial vote on single-payer Medicare for All (H.R.676) in the House Energy & Commerce Committee, sponsored by Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY). But then seven BlueDogs waged a highly-publicized war against a "robust public option" and the vote was delayed for a full week.

We just learned the vote will be tomorrow ( Friday ). Based on all of your calls, we have nine single-payer Democrats: Tammy Baldwin, Michael Doyle, Eliot Engel, Anna Eshoo, Gene Green, Edward Markey, Janice Schakowsky, Anthony Weiner, and Peter Welch.

Five more Democrats are leaning single-payer but still uncommitted. Please call each one and give them one crucial reason to support single-payer from our petition: [LINK] (Be sure to sign our petition and forward it if you haven't already.)

Be concise and practice in advance so you can speak quickly (or leave a voicemail) because they are getting swamped. Report the results of your calls here ...
(Democrats). The public option seems like a no-brainer, however, many are surprised that the public option is a hot button of controversy to some. The "some" are the plunder barons in the shadows.

It would be a surprise in a democracy where the will of the people was relevant, however, the rogue government in Washington, D.C. does not care that much what "the ignorant folk at home" think, so what is good for the people is not necessarily good for the government.

Convicted Civil Rights Murderer Appeals

The United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit has made a rare request that the United States Supreme Court answer whether the statute of limitations has run on two murder convictions.

Here are some details:
In a rare move, the Fifth Circuit Court on Thursday sent to the Supreme Court, with a plea for an answer, a legal question on the time allowed for federal prosecution of an old kidnapping case. The answer, the Circuit Court said, could shut down federal prosecutions of perhaps two dozen old “cold cases” involving civil rights violations.

Because the Circuit Court, sitting en banc, had divided 9-9 on the issue, it could not itself give a definitive answer. Thus, the full Circuit Court, by a 12-6 vote, opted to “certify” the question to the Supreme Court directly — a procedure that is allowed by federal law and Supreme Court Rules, but seldom is used.
(SCOTUS blog). It could be one of the first issues Judge Sotomayor may deal with in her new role as Justice Sotomayer.

Innocent Person Freed From Oppression

The hideous truth is that another person has been ordered released from GITMO after seven years of unjust imprisonment and unjust torture.

No one would have believed, ten years ago, that the United States would torture innocent people and imprison them for seven years.

But it happened, and the news media is talking about having a beer with the president and where M. Jackson is buried.

We are a perverted and sick society now, having been warped by a dying empire which will pass into history as other perverted empires have.

A vast Roman Empire once dominated in Italy, France, Britain, and other areas where rivers, forests, farms, towns, and happy people now enjoy life. That empire is gone.

The same can happen in the Americas.

The Mass Plague Spreads To D.C.

The disease of false arrest spread to the streets of Washington, D.C. recently with the arrest of a person who made remarks to police officers who then arrested him for disorderly conduct.

The stupidest law in the nation distinction may have made D.C. jealous and now they want to be the enforcers of what the ACLU says is another unconstitutional law used to oppress the public's right to speak our against police arrogance.

Stay tuned.

DJDI Goes To Washington

"Da Joos Did It" (DJDI) is an infamous fake progressive movement that is fundamental, religious, and racist in nature.

They are in daily denial of that of course, claiming to be progressive while spouting racist hatred against Jews and minorities.

The DJDI will not like a turn of events in the AIPAC spy case that even pulled in Jane Harman for a brief excursion. It now has a new twist:
Franklin said the FBI first pressed him about working undercover in an investigation into alleged Israeli spying in the United States in May 2004, after he had become a subject of investigation into whether he provided sensitive information to reporters at CBS News on Iraqi exile leader Ahmed Chalabi's relations with Iran.

He said his FBI handlers convinced him that AIPAC analysts Steven Rosen and Mr. Weissman were "bad people" and that the agency needed his help in making a criminal case against the pro-Israel lobby officials. The two AIPAC officials were eventually indicted, but this spring -- after years of legal wrangling -- the government reversed course and dropped all charges against them.
(Washington Times). It appears that Franklin outed Chalabi as an "American killer" which outraged Cheney and crew who wanted to use Chalabi as a source who would say Iraq "had millions of WMD" so they could invade Iraq.

Sotomayor Gets A Floor Vote

The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 13-6 in favor of Judge Sotomayor, so now a floor vote of the full Senate will be scheduled.

The federal judiciary is more conservative than it has been since the 1930's but the republicans after having been soundly defeated in two elections still do not get that the people do not want it this way.

The republicans were not happy to have a Justice that is currently a very slight bit more conservative than Justice Souter, who is retiring and whose place she will take.

Digging in when they should be rebuilding the party with people who are in tune with what American wants will cost them even more.

Thumb Sucking For Power And Pleasure

Most any social practice can be conceived of as an aberration or as an uplifting necessity.

Whether "it" is a necessity or an aberration can depend on the time of day, time of month, time of year, election cycle proximity to November 4th, and the like. That is, when "it" is being done can be a big factor for some reason.

All of that, of course, also heavily depends on who is doing the conceiving as to whether "it" is an aberration or an uplifting necessity.

So for an attention getter, I use thumb sucking adults as the "it" to get everyone's attention.

I use the subject matter thumb sucking adults not as a bad example or a good example, but just as a simple example.

This phenomenon has religious and cultural manifestations which is not unique to United States culture:
Does thumb-sucking affect the fast?

Assalamu alaikum

I have an awkward problem, that is I still suck my thumb since I was a child!, it can be quite extreme when I am not feeling too well. I am in doubt if this is Haram at all, and does it nullify my fast? I heard a friend say anything that enters the body nullifies the fast. Plse answer my question a.s.a.p. because Ramadan is beginning soon and it is extremely embarassing for me to talk to anyone about it, not even my husband!.

Jazakum allah alf Khair

----------------------------------------------------------

Praise be to Allaah.

Wa ‘alaykum al-salaam wa rahmat-Allaahi wa barakaatuhu.

You have to try hard to give up this habit, and take your thumb out of your mouth every time you realize that you are sucking your thumb. Whatever happens because of forgetfulness will not affect your fast. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah has forgiven my ummah for what they do by mistake or out of forgetfulness, and what they are forced to do.”

(Islam Q&A). Thumb sucking begins while a human is yet embryonic and still within the mother's womb.

It is a personal comfort thing, attached to an individual's own psyche, and to the extent understood, is normal up to a point, but no longer normal beyond that point (so say the gods of normality anyway), and as usual, "that point" varies like political doctrine and taste for beer.

The robe wearers (psyche-doctors of various and sundry sorts) disagree and agree among themselves, as they do on most any topic, as to why thumb sucking arises and why it is perpetuated in some adults but not others.

My take on it is different strokes for different folks, but that goes nowhere fast.

Some of my observations detail how the bullies hurt people to get more pleasure than they can get from thumb sucking, and how they quit thumb sucking as soon as their bully business prospers sufficiently, and they then have a sufficient clientèle on the playground whom they can terrorize.

Lets note that they would have done far better as thumb sucking adults.

Others on the playground take up finger painting, sports, the swings, daydreaming, or hanging out with other kids they like, and leave the thumb sucking behind that way.

Whatever.

Our social structures do not deal with any of this effectively, because our cultures look at what the kids put down on paper during tests as the be all, leaving both aberrant and normal playground dynamics to parents and prison wardens to sort out later.

My concern is that this is no way to develop cosmic adults, no way to preserve the human species into our cosmic future, and just plain "no way".

Of course we all say it takes a village to raise a child, and that is true, but our failing as a species is our concept of the size and shape of "a village".

Clearly, a cosmic village is globe shaped my friends.

Buy Stock In Textbook Companies!

The only thing more dangerous to scientific textbooks than right wing book burning tea parties these daze, seems to be scientific discovery.

The old evolutionary notion that animal life sprang from the oceans is being challenged.

Oh, be still my heart:
Conventional wisdom has it that animal evolution began in the ocean, with animal life adapting much later in Earth history to terrestrial environments.

Now a UC Riverside-led team of researchers studying ancient rock samples in South China has found that the first animal fossils in the paleontological record are preserved in ancient lake deposits, not marine sediments as commonly assumed.
(Science Daily). Those poor college kids like myself who stayed up into the night burning the candle at both ends, getting intelligent, getting in the know, becoming an intellectual through hour after hour of study, will be let down.

One day's knowledge is the next day's wrong answer, and that could be frustrating to up and coming young minds.

Unless perhaps, they own some stock in textbook companies which, through obsolescence planned or not, have to keep the presses running 24/7 to keep up.

It is like printing money over at treasury to keep up with the plunder barons, or like following Sarah Palin around to record her poetic "goodbye, I am staying the course" speeches, for heaven sake.

Sun Gives New Meaning To Hot Wars

A recent post discusses the concerns military folk have about the likelihood that global climate change will lead to more wars.

From the perspective of James Madison, this means that the Mother of All Enemies has joined forces with nature against us.

To top that off, a new report has just been released, which says that is only the half of it, i.e., the Sun and El Nino are back into the equation:
The world faces record-breaking temperatures as the sun's activity increases, leading the planet to heat up significantly faster than scientists had predicted for the next five years, according to a study.

The hottest year on record was 1998, and the relatively cool years since have led to some global warming sceptics claiming that temperatures have levelled off or started to decline. But new research firmly rejects that argument.

The research, to be published in Geophysical Research Letters, was carried out by Judith Lean, of the US Naval Research Laboratory, and David Rind, of Nasa's Goddard Institute for Space Studies.

The work is the first to assess the combined impact on global temperature of four factors: human influences such as CO2 and aerosol emissions; heating from the sun; volcanic activity and the El Niño southern oscillation, the phenomenon by which the Pacific Ocean flips between warmer and cooler states every few years.
(Guardian). The ice packs will be changed, and ocean levels will be too.

And that means a natural impact on national economies which could be huge.

A new discovery, which will cause many more scientific textbooks to head for the great shredder in the sky, indicates that there is 3 times more carbon dioxide in permafrost than was previously calculated, meaning that the cycle will feed on itself causing acceleration.

A Nation Of Hypochondriacs?

Are we in the United States, in our health care debates, showing the world that we are fundamentally Shakespearean drama queens who actually suffer from Hypochondriasis?

Whom am I to ask such questions? Check this out:
The main impression growing out of twelve years on the faculty of a medical school is that the No. 1 health problem in the U.S. today, even more than AIDS or cancer, is that we don't know how to think about health and illness. Our reactions are formed on the terror level. We fear the worst, expect the worst, thus invite the worst. The result is that we are becoming a nation of weaklings and hypochondriacs, a self-medicating society incapable of distinguishing between casual, everyday symptoms and those that require professional attention.
(A Nation Of Hypochondriacs, Time Magazine, Norman Cousins, June 1990, emphasis added). Oh, and that "radical nut case doctor", who was on the Medical Faculty of U.C.L.A. up to his death in September, 1990, went on to say:
The most significant single statement about health to appear in the medical journals during the past decade is by Dr. Franz Ingelfinger, the late and former editor of the New England Journal of Medicine. Ingelfinger noted that almost all illnesses are self-limiting. That is, the human body is capable of handling them without outside intervention.
(ibid). Do I need to add, that, in the 19 years since that article was written things have only gotten worse?

The American public is much more fearful, timid, and terrorized by government propaganda now, and we still act out by taking pills.

Now, the President and others even inform us that we are on the brink of destroying our national economy with our "health care" system.

My take on it is clear, the institutionalization of propaganda always brings empires down.

So much for sophistication, on with the games, let us continue with "breaking down the distance between right and wrong", and calling it "progress"?

The Wars Are un-American Say Soldiers

I just finished a post titled "The Wars Are un-American Says Public", and also posted one warning that the un-American aspect of the wars would mean men would be mentally destroyed there, and when they came home they would plague their families, their local communities, and themselves for the rest of their lives.

Then the Colorado case came up which says what I was trying to say:
Soldiers from an Army unit that had 10 infantrymen accused of murder, attempted murder or manslaughter after returning to civilian life described a breakdown in discipline during their Iraq deployment in which troops murdered civilians, a newspaper reported Sunday ...

Several soldiers said unit discipline deteriorated while in Iraq.

"Toward the end, we were so mad and tired and frustrated," said Daniel Freeman. "You came too close, we lit you up. You didn't stop, we ran your car over with the Bradley," an armored fighting vehicle.

With each roadside bombing, soldiers would fire in all directions "and just light the whole area up," said Anthony Marquez, a friend of Freeman in the 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment. "If anyone was around, that was their fault. We smoked 'em."

Taxi drivers got shot for no reason, and others were dropped off bridges after interrogations, said Marcus Mifflin, who was eventually discharged with post traumatic stress syndrome.

"You didn't get blamed unless someone could be absolutely sure you did something wrong," he said
(AP, DU). Now these men are back home doing to civilian Americans what they were doing to civilian Iraqis. I saw this during the Vietnam era too.

Brain dead masters of war sit in their ivory towers of deceit in Washington D.C. pontificating how things should be according to their reading of the Bible.

No wonder Bob Dylan mused that all those Dick Cheney types should all die long before any soldiers did:
And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead
(ibid). We now know that Cheney Wanted To Invade Buffalo, N.Y. with the U.S. military to get to some slow wannabe terrorists, and make a big show for himself.

The foolishness and utter ignorance of the Bush II regime seems to have no bounds.

Watchdog Groups Need To Standardize

Watchdog groups abound, according to a wikipedia list of watchdog groups.

They watch everything that is going on in Washington politics, from campaign finances to congressional trips abroad.

They rate politicians from clean to corrupt to the top ten most corrupt.

But there is no standard, it is ad hoc, one group evaluating one way while another group uses a completely different standard.

Thus, it is difficult to compare the findings of these various groups, somewhat like poll variations, because there is no standard to which they all conform.

They make up their own separate and different standards, often on the fly.

This will not do.

If we evaluated hurricanes and earthquakes that way one group's bad could be another group's good, and no one would really know when to take cover.

A mathematical standard formula for evaluation has been set forth on this blog for calculating the toxins within power, neutralizing those toxins, and calculating how it is all working out on various politicians.

Various constants are set forth, and many more can be set forth for use in the mathematical formulas.

When perfected it will be like an earthquake scale where everyone knows what you are talking about when you say it was a 5.2 earthquake, or when you say a category 3 hurricane.

Weekend Rebel Science Excursion - 2

"Rebel science" is fun on weekends, because it drives the MSM all mavericky, causes them to yell "conspiracy theory" into their microphones, and then break for commercials.

This blog has entertained the rebellion in prior posts, because the data support multiple theories, not just the ones pumped out by Big Brother.

So, on with the show.

NASA is now sure that its Cassini spacecraft, which has been exploring Saturn, its rings, and its moons, has discovered ammonia on Enceladus.

"Whoopie fraggin doo" you say, "I have ammonia in my bathroom closet". The big thing about this, gang, is that they have also found organics in the water and in the outer ring of Saturn which Enceladus is building and has been building.

Several things come up. One, as you know I subscribe to the exploded planet hypothesis for explaining the debris field (asteroid belt) between Mars & Jupiter. I also consider some of the moons of Saturn, specifically Enceladus, to be parts of the ocean on that planet that exploded.

When the planet exploded some of its ocean, the sandy bed under that ocean, and some bedrock under that were cast into space and were then captured by Jupiter and Saturn's gravity. Any life in that ocean probably died, except perhaps some microbes.

Any chunk like that cast into space which is over 400 miles in diameter will form a globe shape due to the power of its own gravity. The rocky material will settle toward the center. This is exactly the way several moons of Jupiter and Saturn are composed and structured; lots of water, organics, and harder inner cores.

There is another thing, since Enceladus is finite and has only a certain amount of water, and it is responsible for building the outer ring of Saturn with that water, it had to have come to Saturn relatively recently. By "relatively recently" I speak in terms of multiple millions of years, because Saturn is about 4 billion years old.

Enceladus would have already run out of water to build the outer ring if it came into existence when Saturn did some 4 billion years ago. The water would have run out in a comparatively short time, since Enceladus is only about 500 miles in diameter.

Thus, Saturn offers so many mysteries that the science textbooks are shaking in their boots.

More discoveries in China are likewise sure to have more textbooks thinking about the great shredder in the sky.

The next post in this series is here, the previous post in this series is here.

Snake Your Booty

The beauty or the booty of Sarah Palin had the right wing of the GOP all mavericky at last year's convention.

The storm of sex scandals from C Street in D.C., to Minnesota public urinals, to the "Appalachian Love Trail" in Argentina, to the Vice Presidential candidate's children having children out of wedlock, have all been booty full too.

My take on this is that the neoCon element which infested the GOP a decade or so ago, which has a doctrine of interpreting any and all data or facts to conform to preconceived ideology, heard the song "shake your booty" and misinterpreted it to be "snake your booty".

Since then they have been getting all snaky and mavericky with their booty, which is alarming to the family values people (at least those who really are family people with family values), who don't even shake their booty, much less snake their booty.
